I stayed at the Randolph in February….was told the bar was famous in Morse….although I have never watched an episode in my life……the hotel was lovely…Oxford is lovely, I have only been twice there but it’s a very special place for me

lol I am guessing someone else drove there knowing your map reading skills!!

The Randolph is an impressive hotel though just down the road was a dentists I used to go to and he was a sadist – put me off dentists for life!!

We are hoping to get back to England for a few days this autumn and hope to get a day in Oxford and lunch at the Trout Inn at Wolvercote

Sorry! I can’t speak French, hate wine so it sounds like a job from hell for me.

I also adhere to that old adage, never mix business with pleasure!

Sometimes it is impossible not to mix business with pleasure.

The people I teach are usually quite high up in their companies and often travel extensively, so they are very often doing a lot of their business over meals. I enjoy good wines and good food and if they wish to take me for a meal in a good restaurant as part of their learning, who am I to complain. But if it helps them to be able to conduct their business better then to me that is a job done.

The wine person I teach was at a wine fair in Hong Kong earlier this month and he met a Chinese person who wants to take a sample of 10,000 bottles of wine to start with. He told me they were very interested to hear about how the wine was produced etc which is a lot of what we have done in the lessons, but not something anyone has ever done for them before.

As I said I have what is to me the perfect job – it may not be to everyone’s taste but I think there are several who would happily deputise for me

lol It reminds me when I used to drive up to London to see my b/f, then husband! now ex!! Anyway, my mum lived near Shepherd’s Bush which I knew how to get to, so whenever I had to go to London, I did it via the roundabout – must have put an hour on every journey!
