I just watched all the Lord of the Rings movies in a row… do I need to say more? (everyone knows the plot  )
Well, they were extended DVD editions, took about 12 hours and 6 discs but they were very good :D

(that’s all, I’m always keeping it brief  )

ohhh film reviews….. im bored and nowt to do so here goes…..

Goal….. totally execellent folks…. you girls should love it as well..

If you like rags-to-riches fairy tales, you’ll love this romanticised ode to unrealistic dreams. Fortunately, the direction and performances are good enough to get us through the progressively hackneyed storyline.

Santiago Muñez (Becker) is a young Mexican who illegally crossed into America as a child. He lives with his angry single dad (Plana) in Los Angeles, working two jobs and playing football (that’s soccer to the Yanks) every chance he gets. One day he’s spotted by a has-been talent scout (Dillane), who arranges a trial with the Newcastle United manager (Iures). Now in cold, rainy Northeast England, Santiago has a month to prove himself worthy of playing alongside such greats as Alan Shearer and cocky new star Harris (Nivola).

I thought Goal was brilliant… would def watch again….

    Green Street

Football hooligans have always been a blight on the beautiful game and any movie about them always seems to glorify the violence but can ‘Green Street’ be any different?

Unlike ‘Football Factory’ the movie tries to explain the reasons behind the organised violence that drives the ‘firms’ that associate themselves with the football clubs. Now we see that this is England’s equivalent of the turf wars between the US gangs but they use their fists instead of guns. It is all about respect and their reputation amongst the firms.

This film is partly autobiographical. And this authenticity lends a sharp edge to what would otherwise be yet another gritty drama about British yob culture.

When aspiring journalist Matt (Wood) is thrown out of Harvard, he heads for London to visit his sister Shannon (Forlani) and her husband Steve (Warren). But before the first day is over, Matt has fallen in with Steve’s brother Pete (Hunnam) and the Green Street Elite, a gang of football hooligans supporting West Ham. The problem is that, to these guys, the only thing worse than being a Yank is being a turncoat journalist. So Matt has a big secret.

**Pete, the thuggish leader of the pack, is played by Charlie Hunnam, a name I knew, but could not quite place. Seeing the movie did not help, so I checked him up on the internet. When I released that he played Nathan in “Queer as Folk,” I did perhaps the first genuine double-take of my life.

Saw Batman Begins on 29th September. What a brilliant film. It puts real
flesh on the bones of the Batman character. His origins and how he came by
his hi-tech gadgets are all made more credible, and his early days training
with the Ninjas was cinematic heaven. A must see film if you haven’t already!

Spotted an ad on the side of a bus for SAW2….and it reminded me how good the first one was.

It had a pretty gruesome storyline, quite puzzlng at times….and an unbelievable ending!!!

I heard SAW2 was going to be set on a cruise liner in the middle of the ocean.

    Seasaw. :D

I saw Captain CamWank Returns this morning. Absolute rubbish. The plot is full of holes and one is left sympathising more with the bad guys by the end than the eponymous hero. The acting is feeble, our friendly neighbourhood Cap becoming more and more a caricature of himself as the story progresses. The whole franchise must be in doubt, as the Captain is increasingly a figure of camp fun instead of an avenging hero. 2/10.
