9 November, 2016 at 1:49 am #1007767i meant fights in a protestorial way like lets all vote for free registration no charges then the clones vanish
11 November, 2016 at 6:26 pm #1008259Are you joking?
How do you think this site is still standing after 16 yrs?
It’s mostly due to the rejects that get booted from other sites and end up here as it’s no registration and badly moderated, so they can do as they like.
Basically a no man’s land.

11 November, 2016 at 6:44 pm #1008261It might not even be possible, I haven’t looked into the software JustChat uses. But I don’t think it would stop cloning, I know a few ways which you could get around it.
11 November, 2016 at 8:13 pm #1008275well the host said it would stop cloning if we was all members because then our names on here become password encrypted so no one can clone then unless if they got your password for your membership

“draculina”, “draculinа” and “draсulina”, are all different character strings, i’ll leave it up to Martin to figure out why, and what that means for registering usernames.

15 November, 2016 at 6:09 am #1009113Here’s the thing – it costs money to run a site. It costs money to host the server for the chat site (esp. one so big as this one, including boards). It costs money to manage and to moderate. It costs time (and time is money if one is qualified to have a career) to review Reports, to make adjustments to the site, to set up new accounts, and those are just baby tasks from running a site.
If it dropped a dollar or two, like a holiday special, would anyone join with a minimum of three months?
I mean, for me, it would cost me 2-3 cups of coffee to register. I think that most of us can pay for that. Maybe we could even donate a few extra dollars per annum (per user) to go to someone who was hard off.
Either way, I don’t think $7-$8/mo is so bad. It’s really not.
I like the chat site. I am glad it is here. And there are also the boards.
And yeah, I do get trolled sometimes. I just automatically block and I try to be nice. If blocking doesn’t work, as I can still hear half the convo, I ignore. It’s been all too tiring lately anyways – so I am not really doing much here besides lurking and having a glass of wine or cider here or there. People should just remember the poor trolls are so SOCIALLY INEPT and mentally unstable.. and stop feeding them attention. They will eventually get bored – I’ve seen it happen repeatedly.

I’m sure an upper case “C” stuck right in the middle of a name would be noticed, and I dare say the other one is an upper case “i” which would be easy to stop by telling people to use an upper case “L” in their username.
