Whenever February posts on the boards, her personality ensures that she always has people posting in reply to her. She is intelligent and witty. I don’t know her, but I don’t judge someone by what anyone else says to me, I make my own mind up. I always do about everyone.
There have been some vicious personal things put about a number of regular posters lately. And other board users, who know nothing about that person, jump in and post their nasty little comments to add to the tarring and feathering. And people who don’t even post come here to read it all. It is on a par with the worst kind of reality TV. And because the reader thinks they “know” the people concerned, it takes on a life of its own.
I get the image of all those little old ladies knitting and watching the French royals being beheaded day after day.
Someone said they would prove something to me some time ago. It took no time at all, and the proof just keeps rolling in.
Oh but mims they are all perfect ‘internet’ specimens that like to tell us about our lives and how we are running them and how we should be running them. Far be it for them to be insulting, abusive, belittling and downright shite. These little people don’t do this. Pats, Sian, Andrew, Paul, Hoseason… very rounded lives they all have. They never put a foot wrong and just you remember that my girl!

But by this you are assuming that people in relationships who frequent this place are miserable and looking for something else. Well I for one can tell you that this is not the case. I suspect most people just use this place as fastcars said – as a place to have a laugh when they have got some spare time, be it relaxing after work, at night when their kids are finally in bed, or for some when they are up at night and cant sleep. I cant see the harm in it, unless you start taking the place too seriously.
So youre happy in a relationship and no longer feel the need to come here so you say, good for you! You can have both you know…

yup. It has not filled a void for me, but added to my life, by that I mean the internet as a whole. Im still finding my way around on it being a late developer anall.. only got on line two years ago, so its still quite exciting for me and the family.
If it makes you frown too much then its not the place to be, but I enjoy it cos hubby and kids are in bed most nights by 8ish, and as I have to sky plus everything for other half so we can watch them together I come on here most nights to catch up with everyone, join debates, take and give banter, I love talking sport, gossip, girly stuff, news etc. It only really gets ruined when certain people post such undeserved comments, then winge when its thrown back at them! and I think there are genuinly some nice people on here, who I actually care about… is it really uncool to admit that? :lol:
notice tho shaz……the ones preaching are the ones who go to bed alone each night…..now THATS sad. :wink:
