I remember reading the book in the early 90s.. it’s a BIG feckin read, about a zillion pages lol, but well worth it. Many regard it as King’s best 8) .
I enjoyed the mini series too Sharon! That came along in the mid 90s I think didn’t it? Quite an undertaking.. always difficult to condense mammoth stories like that, but it was a decent attempt :)
8 April, 2008 at 11:23 pm #321763Yes it was sgt, I think each part was about 2 hours wasnt it? If only more books were adapted like that rather than always going for the big American blockbuster approach all done in 80 minutes…
I could list a few I wished they had payed more attention to, but I think that’s a whole other thread lol!

On the whole mini-series subject.. one of my absolute faves had to be
(Of course that symbol has taken on a much more prosaic significance online  )
I really loved that title theme.. and notorious scenes of alien eating habits and This bizarre birth scene were perfect fodder for my warped teenage imagination :?
:P
8 April, 2008 at 11:49 pm #321766ooooh yuck gross!!!!!!! when the first baby came out and poked his little tongue out!
The Father wotsisname at the beginning had more than a passing resemblence to George Galloway… this could explain a lot!
I never watched V, or if my parents did I was probably shunted off to bed, but Ive seen a few repeats.
That’s another that should be shown again! 8)

  @ the Galloway gig! An curious resemblance indeed!
And speaking of likenesses, that second twin alien thingy brutally reminds me of work tomorrow.
So the Land of Nod I must alas make :?
Arms of Morpheus etc etc..Sharon.. a pleasure as ever :) x
Night all :D
