wow…..having backtracked on this moses the murderer bloke, i have been startled by the enormous amount of material that can be delved into ….its very very interesting people, let me suggest you put down your bibles briefly adn investigate further just what our shools are teaching the children in relation to the ” almighty “..dont we owe the children the time to distinguish for them an independent view…… “happy easter”

I think all religions should be taught at school, as for telling children “the truth”, Gaz, first we have to discover what that is, I have my own personal beleifs and I beleive in some sort of divine truth, an eternity or immortality connected with the universe. And if we are telling them all the time what the “truth” is, how are they forming an independent view?

Yes Nemi, your right, to tell the truth first we need to establish it….. shame then that despite no evidence of an ” almighty ” we continue to bombard the children with these stories…… telling the children the truth is perhaps only pertinant to religious dogma, when i say tell the children the truth i mean just that, tell the children there is no such thing as a “saviour” and an ” almighty “…I agree that all religions should be touched on in education as the main theme that runs through it is peace to all mankind…it is only when it becomes intwined with education as an option for achievement that i disagree with.
4 April, 2010 at 8:59 pm #431558We also bombard them with evolution theories and we dont allow them to opt out of the sciences unlike religious education
4 April, 2010 at 9:10 pm #431559Of course the difference being, there is no celebration of the theory of evolution or darwinism….the children are not only indoctrinated, they are also privvy to celebrations based on complete heresay and dogma, not to mention the ever increasing commercialism designed to blackmail parents into spending vast sums with these celebrations and occassionally falling into debt

I never said there wasn`t an “almighty” or “saviour”, and I think, it`s up to adults, as well as children to make their own mind up, I lean towards the big bang, evolution theory, but with a whole lot of God thrown in, but God for me isn`t really a diety or a religion, it`s just a truth :)
4 April, 2010 at 9:14 pm #431561Thats the parents stupidity not religions fault. Aren’t your celebrated suicide bombers privvy to dogma and hear say
4 April, 2010 at 9:19 pm #431562In terms of truth Nemi, we are bound by our own perceptions of it, regarding faith, i believe the children should start off with a blank sheet so to speak, and not a sheet with a watermark
4 April, 2010 at 9:20 pm #431563Whoa! Pete, I don`t want to be associated with suicide bombing
