Cliff Richard being gay or not isn’t the issue here anyway. I don’t care personally, whether he is or he isn’t because Pete at least seems to have the opinion that i’m ‘queer bashing’ as they call it, judging by his post about Cliff not disgusing his sexual orientation so he must be gay mentality!
I hold the opinion, and always have, of live and let let, I don’t care what others do, how other people choose to live their lives is their business! not mine!,,,,,,,,,I merely pointed out that he doesn’t follow his christianity to the letter, whether he’s gay or not, he has very strong views on same sex partnerships and thinks that the church should be more accepting, which isn’t, strictly speaking, following his christianity to the letter, because most religions don’t and never will, accept homosexuality!!! and that is a fact!
9 February, 2010 at 5:37 pm #430956Now i aint saying those words are right but following them doesnt make you gay ffs
I never said it did :roll:9 February, 2010 at 5:40 pm #430957Did Pete just go for the Bible for his point?
9 February, 2010 at 5:40 pm #430958Doesnt make a christian a bad person, id sooner have a world full of religious people who were true to their religions teachings (and lets face it they all have pretty much peace and goodwill type teachings) than a world full of robbing murdering scum

Surely you cant let the past experience map out your future ritzy…as free thinking adults one of the most precious gifts we have is that of the ability to question…..question everything, another problem with scriptures is that the followers often mis-interpret what they believe to be true…its a life long quest thats for certain and the scale of information to establish a sound understanding is phenomenal.
I believe in what i can see, touch, feel… i don’t believe in god at all and i think it freely ;)

Yes Pete, I’ll take your “agnostic through and through” with a pinch of salt shall I? Im afraid people had a moral code thousands of years before the ten commandements, so christians cant lay claim to humans being moral.

Everyone is entitled to believe what they want to believe. I’m not saying that religion is a bad thing for everyone, if it suits you (and I mean ‘you’ in the general term) fine! It doesn’t suit me, it’ll never suit me again.
I know some people who go to church each week, go to confession prior to mass, take holy communion, god forgives them and they spend all the next 7 days being as big an a@sehole if not bigger, until saturday comes around again, and its time for yet another confession, and another forgiveness. So you’ll have to excuse my cynicism Pete but most so called ”christians” I know, are complete and utter prats!

I agree Cas but most so called christians are human and simply use religion as an excuse, im saying if everyone was religious and followed the teachings strictly the world would be a better place. But they dont and wont and it isnt :?
9 February, 2010 at 5:58 pm #430963All religions should have the same fundamental values, and probably do. To be a decent human being. To love they neighbour (not that good looking blonde next door by the way guys  ) Being religious does not mean you have to be dictated by every aspect of it. There will not be one person on this planet I argue that follows every aspect of whatever religion they are to the full, it’s impossible. I am a Sikh, not ashamed of being a Sikh, but I do not know probably half of fully what my religion is. It doesn’t not make me a Sikh. I am very happy following what little bits of religious aspects I do that fit in with my upbringing, my lifestyle and my modern beliefs. I say modern because no religion is modern.
