I do not beleive in “God” but I do beleive in truth and the divine, I don`t follow any religion but I do have faith.
In the big bang hydrogen formed, it combined and cooled with oxygen creating water, that for me was where life started, atoms clustering together to form new elements. I beleive that when we die, our self awareness dies, but us, our atoms, our energy cannot be destoyed, it just changes.
It has been discovered that the structure of a brain cell is the same as the universe, I`m thinking about that one, suggests a lot of possibilties for me.
As for the question where did it start? There isn`t one, nor is there an end for me, it`s eternal.
I’ve heard that analogy before, and also the atom one, about each atom resembling a solar system. I think that there are echoes throught nature. Similarities. Its neat and tidy. Apart from the random chaos parts that is.
11 February, 2010 at 10:21 pm #431056It isnt though ..in an infinite universe everything that can happen has happened. Infinity is a paradox, some infinities are bigger than others
Also infinity + 1 = infinity
infinity + infinity = infinity
but infinity – infinity can equal anything you want it to equal
Infinity is a concept rather than a number and some dont believe there is an infinity but that at some point it merely goes back to 0 again. However these mathemeticians have to use infinity in their maths such is mathsDoes my head in :?
11 February, 2010 at 10:28 pm #431057infinity isn’t a paradox although it can create paradoxes. Infinity just means that something is without end. Although we don’t know that something we describe as infinite really has no end or boundaries, its so big we can’t tell.
A paradox is something that contradicts logic. It cannot happen but it has. Like someone who goes back in time and becomes their own mother. That creates a paradoxical situation because it defies logic. You cannot really be your own mother or father after all, logically, can you!
11 February, 2010 at 10:38 pm #431058I guess it would depend on whether sperm could exist before you existed to make it and for that matter could you exist before you existed which you’d have to unless your grandfather took your sperm back in time and impregnated your mother with that sperm then you sorta could.. but as you cant go back in time it a moot point really
11 February, 2010 at 10:41 pm #431059Infinite by definition has no end a decimal infinity is bigger than a whole number infinity and a list of numbers half the size of another is the same size as both are infinite 8-[
11 February, 2010 at 10:45 pm #431060Makes you glad you’re not a mathematician :?
11 February, 2010 at 10:48 pm #431061It makes me glad you’re not!

12 February, 2010 at 12:08 am #431063How wrong can you be.
Did you know that people who survived the Black Death in the 1300s in Europe had their DNA changed as a result of having the plague. That changed DNA was passed down through successive generations. Until the plague in the 1600s. People who had one parent with the changed DNA survived the plague and those with both parents with the changed DNA didn’t even catch the plague at all.
AND people who have the changed DNA apparently can’t get full blown AIDS even if they become HIV positive!
People from Africa and other continents who didn’t have ancestors who survived the Black Death have no protection to HIV and therefore they are more likely to get full blown AIDS.
and thats just one example!
As for matter just coming into being…………….what the heck do you think scientists say created the universe?
Wrong ??? i didnt say that all mutations within DNA are harmful
Thats interesting about the plague….i would lke to know where this information came from….Catch the plague ???? perhaps they were waiting at the wrong stop, again let me know where this information can be verified….if mutations affect the mitochondrial DNA, this will without doubt pass to the child of that mother…this occurs naturally… i have not seen any documents supporting what you say…. :? Are you saying that becoming immune to disease supports the argument that humankind have evolved from inanimate matter ???????
Scientists say created the universe ????????…… i might point out that it is the origin of what made the occurence possible that escapes fact not what they summise to be fact, there would be no need for the discussion if scientific evidence gave all the answers would there??????12 February, 2010 at 2:04 am #431064how wrong can ye be,, …
