Why wouldnt we over hype our athletes? The games are in our country….the opportunies to shine in your own country are mind blowing….should we not get behind them?
We are not world supremos in sports across the board and never have been, like the Americans and Chinese…..that is why we were estimated to finsih about 5th in the medal league table

London is being turned into a ghost town from what I gather. 100,000 tourists are expected as a result of the Games, but the norm is 300,000 tourists, and they’re keeping away. Hotels in central London were ready to charge super-high rates, but are now offering discounts of 20%. Theatres in the West End are having a killing season as far as tickets are concerned this summer.

I did see a bit of the archery, and all I could think of was why we didn’t have Erroll Flynn playing for the UK team – at least he could have fired an arrow into the medal stand and rode off with the medals. I am looking forward to the women’s wrestling..I assume that they are playing scantily clad?? Looking forward to Panda walking off with the Gold. :D

The trains were up the spout (soory Teapot, no offence to your nose!) this morning.
