Ever since the new settings have come in, it’s like a labyrinth of mazes to get to what you used to have.
Now.. i have been getting “Recent activity” items being posted on my wall and i am sure i disabled this function under the last privacy settings.
I’ve looked all over and can’t find anything to help me solve it.
Recent activity such as
“Bob added Joe bloggs as a friend”
“Bob likes Steve’s status”
“Bob wrote on Steve’s wall”
“Bob became a fan of the x factor”That drivel ^
Any help is mucho appreciated! Even sarcastic responses from PB to keep me amused. 8) :D
Thank you x
23 December, 2009 at 11:25 pm #426707Sorry to disappoint Rainy, but I don’t use Facebook. In fact ever since I sued a similar social networking site for breach of contract, on behalf of a client, and took them to the proverbial cleaners, I’ve kept right away from them all.
However, I understand that the ‘drivel’ you mention is pretty typical of the sort of conversations that you get on Facebook etc. Maybe the answer is to give it up altogether and take up brass rubbing instead.

u cant really stop ya facebook postin stuff like that. but u can delete it once its posted.
yes you can !
In account settings under privacy you can set what you see.
You can alos hide things from the home page too. If you select next to the post you have the option to hide and all future posts such as ‘so n so is now friends with’ and that stuff will be hidden
Simples
2 January, 2010 at 1:15 pm #426711RockYou, the website which provides widgets and applications for some of the major social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Bebo has come under attack from hackers who have managed to retrieve more than 32 million usernames and passwords using a technique known as SQL Injection which involves inserting commands in SQL through website queries.

Really? Recent activity such as adding friends and liking status updates? Can you write a step by step guide how you did this please?
I really dislike people being able to check up on what i’ve been doing. It used to be so much easier
Thank you :)
10 January, 2010 at 1:51 pm #426713Rainy, the big downside of social networking sites such as Facebook, Bebo and others is that users CAN see your ‘footprint’. This is held to be a part of the “fun” of social networking, even though your ‘privacy’ is invariably compromised in the process.
My advice to anybody with issues over their ‘privacy’ is NOT to use social networking sites.
10 January, 2010 at 1:58 pm #426714Here here PB. I have blocked ALL these social networking sites on my pc. All I ever seem to read about is how much grief these sites cause, with users using them to bully other people. I don’t have msn either.

I don’t use any social networking sites or msn either, I use the boards whilst at work, and when my laptop got buggered I didn’t want to replace it so I wouldn’t go on it at home. Now if I want to use pc at home I have to go into my sons not so clean room, take my life in my hands and trek through mountains (of clothes), so I don’t bother
