I’ve had a few people recently asking me why I’ve dropped them as friends on Facebook, with a couple being quite miffed at me as they thought that if they’d done something wrong I should have told them rather than just deleted them.

    Oops sorry. :(

So just to set the record straight, I haven’t had a clear out or deleted anyone off my Facebook friends list, the reason you can’t see me any more is because I’ve deleted my account. Some things just aren’t worth the hassle in life, and some of the fallout of my Facebook account recently just wasn’t worth the hassle. Maybe at some point I’ll reinstate the account, who knows.

TBH I didn’t think anyone would miss my ramblings about my quite boring life, but there you go.

So…..you can all stop being miffed at me now ok?

Facebook is what you make of it. If you are popular and have lots of real friends on it, it can be a great site for keeping in touch and sharing experiences. However if you’re a twat and nobody likes you, then it is shit.

I’m a twat and i hate it too.

I had 2 facebook accounts, one for my real life friends and family, and one for people from JC (it’s the JC one that I’ve deleted).

My real life friends and family are dotted all around the country and some are overseas in different time zones; far from being shyte, it’s a great way of keeping in touch, sharing photos and so on, without it I’d either lose touch with a lot of people or be constantly on the phone.

Panda, if you really do believe that it’s shyte and for the attention seeking needy, maybe it says more about you and your friends than it does about Facebook

    LOL

You’ll be the first to complain when some idiot hacks into it and uses info on there against you despite whatever privacy settings you use.

There are other ways of keeping in touch with people all over the world – ways that are more secure and private than allowing yourself to be searched and info available about you.

Says more about you really…

But there is nothing on there that I wouldn’t be happy to see in the public domain, same as here or anywhere else I post online, so there is nothing to be used against me – unless someone wants to try to use my real name or my holiday photos against me :?

I have a general rule of thumb; if I wouldn’t want my mother to see it, I don’t make it available online – and that still applies even though she’s no longer with us.

If you put info online that you wouldn’t want to see bandied around elsewhere, then more fool you. In that case it’s not the tool that’s shyte…what’s that saying, a bad workman always blames his tools?

    *edited for typos

There is nothing in the online world that is 100% secure and private.
