cant be bothered lol.
My mate is the managing directors daughter and she kept me informed by text as I was out. I checked loads of websites on my moby for updates but found nothing.
Media wont be interested till after the next round I spose.
If you beat Burgess Hill you’ll be national celebrities.
And you’ll be on MOTD.
We beat Torquay at home in the 1st Round 4 years ago.
Then we drew Brentford at home in the 2nd Round and were live on TV.
I remember Mark Lawrenson’s face when he arrived at the ground. lol.
It was an amazing time for the whole town.14 October, 2008 at 11:02 pm #380768I remember Hinckleys journey, paid a huge interest.

I was supposed to be behind the goal taking photos when we played Brentford but bottled out at the last minute.
:roll:14 October, 2008 at 11:12 pm #380770Im not surprised, I wasnt even at tonights match, yet we couldnt concentrate on anything else. The thought of your local boys winning and doing something spectacular is a lot to cope with man!

There’s a possibility we could get drawn against each other in Round 1.
If it does happen it’ll be war.
Until we win… in which case we can be friends again. :wink:It won’t happen though….
14 October, 2008 at 11:32 pm #380772tel, we will be travelling to wherever and whoever we get, and I tell you now we are meeting for a half time refreshment.
How funny would that be? Anythings possible at the moment you know!
16 October, 2008 at 9:43 pm #380773If you win at Burgess Hill you might get drawn at home to Leeds United or Leicester City who both come in at the 1st Round stage apparently.
16 October, 2008 at 9:47 pm #380774I know…. it will be amazing. Im really buzzin off this at the moment lol.
the supporters are organising a bus to Sussex next saturday for the match against Burgess Hill, so we will either go with them, or my mate at work who happens to be the vice chairman (I know,…… all of a sudden Ive lots of “special friends”)
he will be driving, but I quite fancy the coach, that will be a grin there and back whatever the score… but will be amazin if we win.
I feefed 5 black markers from work to do our harlow flag last week and we ran them dry and its only a small one!
16 October, 2008 at 10:10 pm #380775We’re buzzing too.
The only problem is that in the FA Cup anything can happen.
Everyone here is expecting us to win but we could get knocked out. :shock:16 October, 2008 at 10:18 pm #380776Shaz,
Burgess Hill is about 10 miles south of Crawley off the M23 and basically next door to Haywards Heath. They have been evicted from their council owned ground although they are currently fighting this decision. Small ground, one nice stand for their level (Ryman South). Haven’t had much joy in the Rymans since being promoted from the Sussex County League some 5 years or so ago. They did dominate the Sussex County league for many, many years before the pyramid re-organisation saw them go up. Burgess Hill itself is a small town, not much goes on really. My local team had many a good game against them in their SCL days, we usually came out worse off! And recently, their ex asst. manager was our manager, getting us to 4th in the SCL last season before moving on to new pastures. He did bring with him many of the old BHFC players to my club and we had some good times. I know very little about Harlow except I used to be a rep for Amstrad many moons ago! But BHFC aren’t anything special, but I shall be supporting the West Sussex club obviously!
