I have had many a CV from British applicants …. and I am so shocked sometimes at the lack of effort put into the bloody things….some don’t even have their date of births on them….

I’ve never seen a CV with someone’s date of birth on it. How is someone’s age relevant?

When you have to be 18 to sell Alcohol and Cigarette and 16 to sell lottery tickets its very relevant

Terry, your figures are woefully unsubstantiated and you have a track record of changing them from post to post.

In other words you couldn’t be bothered to research them.
give me some examples of figures I’ve quoted and why (exactly) they’re “woeful”.
And also give me an example of where they’ve changed form “post to post”.

I worked for a place last summer which only employed Brits. The hours were long (we did an 83 hour shift one week) and the work was hard and physical.

There’s no shortage of British grafters – in fact the owner of the business himself didn’t think Polish workers were up to it and wouldn’t consider employing them.

That’s a very different story to yours.

A very ignorant view from your former employer, if he never hired anyone other than brittish, is he going by what others think insted of thinking and seeing for himself what the polish are like and do all ppl from Coventry think so small minded?

The best au-pair I had was Polish, my hubby who needs a job has been told NOT to put his DOB on in it, and, what a croak of wotsit is the UK atm?!

We both don’t claim anything, yet get charged! – yet some immigriants get everything they need/want!

The Poles I’ve met had jobs in Poland before moving to the UK to put Britons out of work. But don’t let that insignificant little fact get in the way of your generalisations…

So tell me…if you could dramatically improve the financial quality of life for you and your family by working abroad, you’d say “oh no, I couldn’t possibly leave this job in my home country paying peanuts, I’ll stay here and live on the breadline thank you”?

As for putting Britons out of work, most of the businesses I know that employ Eastern Europeans do so because they can’t find any Brits to do the jobs because they can either “earn” more on benefits or they think the work is too demeaning or hard. The Eastern Europeans seem to take more pride in earning good money and supporting their families through their own hard work than many Brits do…

You told me you were a photographer! What’s hard and physical about that?

Oh let me guess, you only became a photographer this year.

It’s all a load of b*llocks anyway. Just greedy multi-billionaires trying to package every country into one bank account so it’s easier to manage and profit from.

It’s not opinionor based on emotion, it’s fact based on experience. Go and ask those in your area who employ Eastern Europeans why, seek their experiences. I know from the business forums I belong to that it’s not just my little corner of the world…indeed it’s not just Britain.

If that’s anti-British what can I say…it’s time the British pulled their socks up.

The UK economy was built off the back of immigrants, slaves and the colonies…let’s not kid ourselves about that. If you want facts, go and study 18th/19th century socio-economic history. As for why Poland doesn’t have much of an economy, again go study the history of the country.
