13 November, 2005 at 3:39 pm #168209for some stupid reason, i thought it was on sunday, and missed the game, gutted, being in newcastle last night, everyone was buzzing cause of the 2 owen goals…
13 November, 2005 at 4:06 pm #168210:D Awwwwwww yesh. Super game, I thought. I feared for us after twenty minutes or so, but the chaps showed remarkable derring-do.
We must not treat this impostor of triumph any differently to the impostor of wretched defeat at the hands of Northern Ireland, though. This doesn’t make us the greatest team in the world anymore than losing in Belfast made us the worst team in the world. Cautious optimism for the coming months must rule. I was very pleased with Mickey Owen’s comments along those lines after the match.

The voice of reason amongst the “The cup’s got our name on it, football’s coming home” brigade.

You party pooper Bad- every tournament England have played in I have always believed we are gonna bring the silverware home. This time is no different. Thats the joy of being an England fan- pleasure and pain. I’m gonna enjoy my pleasure cos the pain is normally just around the corner…….but this time……this time……it’s coming home……it’s coming……football’s coming………..
