This is the point I was making.

A point that seems to have been missed, that it’s not about whether someone agrees with your opinion but whether they value it. I’m agreeing with you…

I dont agree…. sometimes we ask for advice or an opinion and if its not what we want to hear we dismiss it as either bad advice or we dont listen… how many times have we heard… i was warned but i didnt listen or she gave me good advice but at the time I resented it…. things are never so black and white in friendships, its a dangerous thing to give advice I try not to unless I’m forced into it.

    Exactly!

I don’t think that I would fall out with a friend if he or she gave me advice that I didn’t heed.
Advice that I didn’t agree with. Or even advice that I didn’t ask for.

I would know that a good friend had reasons for thinking that way. It could be maybe they hadn’t quite understood the whole story so to speak. Or maybe there were points that they didn’t even know about perhaps. It can be quite a complex situation.

It has been said that the best way to understand someone is by listening to them.

However I also know that although we are all quite different in some ways we are very much the same….. n’est-ce pas ….

    Merci

il ya une différence entre une opinion et des conseils.

The same applies to their opinions.

I would not fall out with someone if their opinions were different to mine.

However I would respect their opinion. That goes without saying.

    :(
