I have to applaud it for addressing an important issue in the right way.
Should a gay be allowed to marry a gay?
Now correct me if Im wrong but werent the gays part of a movement who protested for decades to be recoginsed as a respected but DIFFERENT way of life?
And then they want to be treated the same as a MARRIED couple?
You cant have it both ways, and I am pissed off with all this, because for one they have chosen their path.
Two… yep they are different
Three…….. they wait till they have discovered they are different and then ask for the church to bless them!!!!
Im all for ceremonies, but leave the church out of it! Why do you need God now? He aint done nothing for you before has he?
Sounds like a cry for “help” to me.
I will explain more of my views tomorrow…………. of to bed now, but had to post cos Im so riled by these sorts of things and it does throw up confusing handouts at work.
8 November, 2007 at 1:18 am #292796If they wanna marry in Churches let em. I think they should be allowed to marry just the same as any “normal” couple.
I dont really what the problem is. Christian nuts will come out with nonsense from the Bible, but we all know the Bible’s worth zilch in today’s world.
I would’nt say they were “different”. Being gay is just as natural to them as being straight is to anyone else. I believe to deny them the right not to would be the same as denying blacks, asians or midgets the right to marry in Churches because they’re “different”.
8 November, 2007 at 11:06 am #292797Gay’s are ill in the same way that paedophiles are ill. They should be treated not encouraged.
8 November, 2007 at 9:51 pm #292798Marriage in a church and according to the bible is about sealing the bonding relationship between a Man and a Woman. You have to be the opposite sex for that to be possible.
So why choose to shun Gods wishes and then ask your local vicar to marry you both?!
How hypocritical!
Im not religious and never dreamed of getting married in a church because I remain true to myself.
8 November, 2007 at 10:54 pm #292799Who say’s they’re “shunning God’s wishes”? The Bible? The Bible is a load of old nonsense though, and totally irrelevant to today’s world.
Some gay’s would be Christian’s, and wanna be married in a Church. I dont see a problem with that. The Church is stuck with a load of Dogma written in their ancient fairytale books. They’ve gotta follow that Dogma.
Im all for live and let live. Should’nt even be a consideration in Today’s world.

oh dear, you really are behind the times arent you?!
how the hell you can compare two consenting adults to child abuse is quite amazing.
I cant say im 100% comfortable with the whole gay thing but in this day and age you have to learn to accept it, times have changed.

Fasty thats a terrible thing to say. Pebbles is right. You cannot possibly place gay people in the same category as a kiddie fiddler. I never cease to be amazed at the amount of homophobia in the world. Just out of interest then, if a gay man or woman is beaten, and either suffers terrible injuries or even dies, do you think: “bloody good job they deserved it”? simply because they are gay?
9 November, 2007 at 10:20 am #292802Batty…… you have shown on previous topics that your opinions are swayed by media headlines. Two men shagging is morally wrong and encouraging the act on television or the media in general should be discouraged. Just because “The Sun” says its okay doesnt mean we all have to follow like sheep and agree.
9 November, 2007 at 10:30 am #292803And in answer to your question….. you have shown in some of your posting on this site that you dont have a particulary good relationship with your neighbours. If one of them fell foul of a drunken yob one night and came home black and blue after being knocked about a bit… would u secretly be sniggering behind your hand..?

To reply no I,m NOT swayed atall by the media. I watch the news and make up my own mind from that, end of story.
To answer your question re my neighbours. No I don,t particularly like them, and it,s no secret I wish they,d move, but if one of them got kicked to death or badly beaten, of course I wouldn,t be snickering away laughing. Me not liking them very much doesn,t give me the right to wish terrible things to happen to them. You didn,t answer my question? -
