Security services say they have foiled a suspected plot to kidnap and torture a British soldier who has recently been serving abroad before beheading him live on the internet.
In a series of dawn raids eight men were arrested at several addresses in Birmingham at 4am.
The sources said that the alleged plotters planned to force their victim to plead for his life in online videos before torturing him and executing him much as Ken Bigley, the Liverpool hostage, was killed in Iraq in October 2004. The beheading would have been shown live on an extremist website.
The target, a man in his 20s who has not been named, is thought to have found out about the plot. He is now said to be in protective police custody.

Its starting to kick off loads in brum
The younger lads are saying if they are guilty of planning to kill a Muslim army man
So they should because the british government shouldn’t send Muslims to fight Muslims
I grew up in Aston i no what it like there are parts of alum rock where there are signs saying no whites
They are never asked to take them down
They have flags from there cars shops and houses
But the PC brigade say we cannot have the cross of st George
I would love any one of the PC people to come live in a very high Muslim area and no exactly what its like
I just hope they ain’t gone in like a bull at a gate
And they do have the evidence they need
Other wise it will just get worse
Its not the older Muslims there are ashamed the way the younger asians act
There are quite a few at work and when we do a min silence for Nov 11 they walk out but the older Muslims stand and pay there respect

There was a programme on C4, year half ago, about young muslims in Walsall, there were quite happy to say on camera, that “there area was not for whites”. Now Aston, its been no go area in Oldham for whites for 6 years now, how many more are there?

Not the whites V Asian at allI know most wont believe this, but some West Indians who are christians, vote BNP. Its there only political defence against them.
My friend at work and me were chatting about this. She watched a program last week where they did a survey of younger Muslims and older Muslims. One of the questions was would you like England/Britain to live under a Muslim regime. 8% of the older ones said yes. A staggering 38% of the Younger ones said yes.
So much for the younger generation embracing their country.
If this plot had not have been foiled, I hate to think what would have happened. Civil war may be no exaggeration. :shock:
