I had my drink spiked a long time ago in the 80’s when I was out one night at a reggae gig on the pier here…….I didn’t think anything was wrong just had a sleepness night but at work the next day I started hallucinating……..seeing 10″ inch squares of running water down the white anaglypta wall paper………..it was very bizzare.

From that experience I learnt never to leave a drink.

interesting thread for once from lord nonsense, erm nah
i dont think spiking often happens, drugs are to expensive these days, but as sir gobalot rightly says some blokes do use spiking excuses when they go home mashed to their wife,gf etc,ive done it myself  but i do beleive (although i have no proof) some guys use rhypnol, mostly on blind dates i suppose, dunno where they get it from?

I think to answer the question there is absolutely no doubt that its fact….as to why men (mostly men) do it….depending on the result they are hoping to achieve I would say they are sick in the head…warped sense of humour (if its done for a joke for instance)…
I have had my drink spiked but not with anything as sinister as rohipnol however its spelt but I have had non alcoholic drinks spiked wth alcohol…and like most women nowadays I never leave my drinks unattented….if I forget and do leave it…I leave it and just buy another one

problem is these days,is the no smoking ban in pubs,so women do leave their drinks unattended while they nip out for a cig or even if they go to the ladies,ok they might take their hand bags with them, but they dont take their drink with them,so to sum up spiking is extremely rare.

just read tinks post again, that sounds like lsd to me :D so yeh it can happen, also in the 9os when ecstacy aka as the love drug was rife,it happened a lot then so i dont think its all bull on reflection.

I dont think I have ever had my drink spiked… but my husband is adamant he has…..I think it might have been out of embarrassment that he said that though :D

A friend had just taken delivery of his brand new car… it was his pride and joy he had owned it for only two days when he volunteered to be the driver on a boys night out.

On the way home from the night out my hubby who was somewhat the worse for wear was sick……. in the glove compartment of the car!!!! The following day I asked hubby why he didn’t ask our friend to stop the car or why wasn’t he sick out of the window…… my husband replied…. I thought it was the window

Actually if you had truly had your drink spiked with a Rohypnol type of substance you might never know as they have an amnesia affect. That’s one of the reasons they became known as the date rape drug.. its hard to prosecute because the victim has little or no memory of it, often only realising when they start to have flash backs sometime after the event.

    That depends on the woman.

My daughter had her drink spiked, ( we both believe) on holiday in spain when she was 17. She remember going into the bar with her friend ( who i had never liked) and nothing till the next morning when she woke up on the floor of the bathroom in her hotel. Later that day, 2 young women approached her and asked if she was ok. It seems that they had seen her arrive, seen her take just one drink and then start to behave oddly . When they saw that a guy was trying to lead my daughter from the bar, they intervened, took her back to the hotel ( they had seen her there previously) , got the receptionist to open her room and put her on the bathroom floor incase she was sick. The manager then had someone check on her ever couple of hours. Her “friend” said that she had seen nothing, however she had tapped off with the mate of the guy trying to lead my daughter out of the bar.
Needless to say, the friendship finished as soon as they returned from holiday.

That’s so scary Eve….. how lucky was she, thank goodness there are still some nice people in the world who took care of her.
