Does anyone know of any FREE, safe sites where my daughter can download music onto her new MP3 player?
26 December, 2007 at 6:49 pm #297011I’ve used loads of different sites to download music over the years. I’ve been using “Limewire” for a couple of years now and had no problems whatsoever.

Downside is it can be a bit tempremental at times.

Depends how you define “safe” no site is safe as such as you dont know who has put what where and could be infected with anything.
Not to mention the more well known popular sites such as limewire that was mentioned, you run the risk of being sued for thousands of pounds, so the choice is yours.
“UK music industry trade body the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) has announced the latest move in its campaign against illegal file-sharers – proclaiming that it will be going to court to seek the disclosure of 33 more people suspected of uploading hundreds of music tracks to P2P networks.
The BPI has now taken legal action against 90 confirmed and suspected music pirates. The first wave of cases were settled earlier this year, with 23 file-sharers paying an average of £2,000 each.
Another 31 cases are still ongoing in the UK.”
And im afraid ignorance of the law wont get you anywhere as many people have found out.
try the local car boot thats your safest bet, if car boots in my area are anything to go by, you can expect to get the top 40 albums on a dvd as mp3s with all artwork for £3!
And all newly released weekly albums on a dvd for £3, so is file sharing really worth the risk?27 December, 2007 at 8:56 am #297014Oh shyte I didn,t know all that. Shan,t bother with that then. Thanks for all that KT. Well that brings me to my next silly question. Can you rip music from a CD onto an MP3 player, OR, transfer music already on your pc onto one? If you can,t, then how the hell do you manage to get music, legally, onto the damn things in the first place? :?
27 December, 2007 at 9:07 am #297015Yes you can transfer your own cds to the computer and convert them to mp3s with windows media player.

Neither have I JohnBoy. My mum bought it for her. I don,t know one end of an MP3 player from another. They are tiny little things arn,t they? I still prefer good old tape decks, I can work them out easy. All this bloody technology confuses me. My staff button is about the most techy thing I can cope with lol.
27 December, 2007 at 12:59 pm #297018Baty up load her cds then plug ya mp3 into the usb socket it then cmes on the screen what to do its a peace of pi ss honest

27 December, 2007 at 1:13 pm #297019Yep, the one my mum has is about the same size as an AA battery  They’re too fiddly for me but I know folk who have them and reckon they’re far better than an ipod.
