Don’t know if anyone went this year but oh my god I’m glad I didnt. My little sis was there, and I was calling her for leaving after the prodigy and missing guns n roses but I’m so thankful she did. Just reading on the download forums there were riots, fires, people blowing up gas cannisters, setting cars on fire, fights all over the place. Riot police were having to help people get out..
I’m so disgusted by it, what happened to going to a festival to enjoy the music and have a good weekend, now its unknown whether the festival will be able to go ahead next year, and even if it does there was that much trouble this year I dont know if I’d wanna go. It’s a shame that a few idiots can spoil a great event

12 June, 2006 at 11:14 am #225500Hmm well there’s definitely no point in you buying a ticket cos the festival happened over the weekend just gone…
12 June, 2006 at 11:32 am #225501You mean you didnt know the festival was last weekend or had never heard of it before? It’s been going for years, I think it used to be called the monsters of rock ( but dont quote me on that! )
But seeing as you’re gettin old I’ll forgive your lack of knowledge :P hehe
12 June, 2006 at 11:42 am #225502LONDON (Reuters) – Twelve people were arrested overnight after trouble erupted at a rock festival as heavy metal band Guns N’ Roses took to the stage, police said on Monday.
Police were called to the “Download” festival in Donington Park, Leicestershire, shortly after midnight after reports of fires being started.
When officers arrived, missiles were thrown at them while they tried to restore order, a police spokeswoman said.
Around a dozen people were arrested for a variety of offences, including assault and criminal damage. Nobody was seriously injured.
Headline act Guns N’ Roses closed the three-day festival which was attended by about 75,000 people.
Two young fans were crushed to death during the band’s last appearance at Donington Park in 1988 when thousands of fans surged towards the stage.
