being in debt is one of THE worst things in the world. trust me i know.
i have nearly had my house repossed and i cried my eyes out in court, however the judge decided as i had 2 kids and was trying my best to improve myself by being at uni they’d give a chance. i will be paying the debt off for a very very long time but i havent missed a payment.
it is so depressing to get to the stage where you have no idea what to do.
you can get credit from anywhere no matter who you are and how much you earn. then as a student, my god your offered even more!!
i have borrowed to buy my kids xmas pressies and school uniforms etc, its just to easy. you dont think at the time it has to be paid back.
ive learnt a hard lesson and now im paying the price, i feel for the dead guy and his family i really do :(

This is the thing, people are borrowing simply to get by. Not even luxury holidays or flash cars, but to pay the rent and feed and clothe themselves.

We are lucky where I love as we have a great relationship with the local authority who are not in the business of chucking people out for no reason other than arrears.

You will be surprised that only a minority of people are like you GB, its sickening the amount who play the system. People who care and worry and can offer payments will never be evicted.

We have some people come up, get there evictions suspended then you see them in the town getting their nails done, or walking around with designer carrier bags full of expensive clothes. Those are the sort that make me hate my job. I suppose one day it will catch up with them and bite them on the bum.

It is time for loan companies to stop burying their heads in the sand, and realise that debt really can be a killer.

the borrower not the loaner is responsible

I have just been chatting to a mum on another site, who shared her story about her son with me. He died a year ago, and she still does not know the whole truth by the sounds of it

To an extent of course that is right. But loans should be administered properly. Clearly people who cannot afford repayments are still being accepted for loans.

We will be living in a country of bankrupts before long, if new lending laws are not implemented soon, or more people will be driven to the brink. And succeed.

Fancy dying because of money. A complete and unnecessary waste.

Ironically, when the Egg credit card recently withdrew their card from thousands of people whom they said were poor credit risks … there was a public outcry.

Nobody praised them for making a ”good” or ”responsible” decision to withdraw credit and thus prevent those who possibly couldn’t afford it from getting into debt.
