23 August, 2007 at 10:37 am #284342Thanks Matty…. Well what I’m saying is she’s been under a lot of stress this pass yr or so apart from having no choice in sitting her exams early as was the school decision … so yes I would say she’s had a lot on her plate like doing extra work! , also going through a hard time with her father NOT wanting anything to do with her since finding a new woman … so for her young yrs I would say had a lot to deal with.
Good luck Sunny`s daughter with results xx

23 August, 2007 at 5:46 pm #284347Is it the kids that put pressure on themselves or the media world we now live in? I was at home all day listening to radio 1 when the A level results where handed out last week. The whole program was geared towards these results with reporters strategicly placed at all schools looking for a story worthy of sharing with the population as a whole. This of course meant hunting out the poor sods that failed miserably and pretending they care so much that they wanted to do a story about them and their prospects for the future now they had FAILED at their first tentative steps into the real world. Counsellors and experts were there to try and calm nerves and lend their wealth of experience to the distraught kids. For those that did pass they were only faced with a barage of media reports at how easy the A level exams have become which not only knocked the stuffing out of their personal achievements but made those who failed feel that bit more useless than they already felt.
I have just watched the BBC news about the GCSE results that have just been handed out. A “HELPLINE!!” has been set up for people who have “FAILED” and feel they need counselling to get through their harrowing experience.
Did we have all this cr*ap when we took our exams???
No wonder the kids are stressed out with all this kind of negative, unnecessary, media hype.
