Have you had one of those days when u say something stupid and then think DOH after you said it
I met a woman just before xmas who worked in the same building as me general chit chat passed how are u etc etc
As I walked away I said have a lovely xmas and a great new year ……..As she wished me the same and walked away I thought fkkkkkkkk her hubby just died what a stupid thing to say to her…. DOH
Yesterday on the fone to a solicitor I got all tongue tied at the end of the call instead of saying …… ty very much for your help Claire … I actually said thanks for your hair DOH … she said has it been a long day pmsl
what the responses say is perhaps more interesting – they both understood the sentiments behind what you were trying to say
Bumping into an old schoolfriend who was looking rather pregnant, amongst all the noise around us I thought she said “I’m having a baby”. Congratulating her, I asked when it was due…she looked upset and at this point her husband appeared holding a 3-month old baby…yep, she’d said “I’ve had a baby” :oops:
Blimey Jen I’ve done that………years ago at a wedding…I asked someone when her baby is due……..she was so upset and I was mortified when she said she wasn’t pregnant…..still remember it with horror…I avoided her the rest of the day :oops:
Gawd, I can relate to this……..french man was, I thought, congratulating his marriage (which we had attended 2 months previously)……..no, it was his divorce!! Well, he was drinking champers and gave us a glass each! :lol:
