9 April, 2008 at 5:09 pm #324499I’m not sure and I’ve got a couple of things to back it up. They say that pets sense these things, well my grandad used to live with us and our dog was always sitting by him. After he died, his chair was moved she would often just stare directly at where his chair used to sit in the room. When the old chair was put back it became her favourite despite the fact that she never used to bother with it.
It sounds weird, I don’t believe in ghosts as such but I believe that there is something else.
9 April, 2008 at 5:18 pm #324500cant say I believe in ghosts as ive never seen one. My mum said she saw our dog shortly after she died, but sometimes if you’re upset I think you see what you want to see. Or maybe she really did see her..who knows. I’d have to see something 1st hand to believe in it myself.
On the subject of pets though, my cat often stares up at the corner of the ceiling when were sat in the living room and it freaks me out because theres nothing there!…or is there? she did it the other day when i was sat on the bed, she became transfixed with the space beside me, i thought omfg theres someone sitting next to me!!! You never know…
9 April, 2008 at 5:24 pm #324501Being a spiritulist I believe that our spirits/souls/whatever you want to call them do live on. As to where they go I have no idea. I dont believe in heaven and hell as such, and ive no proof as pebbles says first hand as to whether ghosts exist.
I do believe in “visits” though… have you ever had a dream about either an animal or human who have passed and you appear surprised and pleased to see them, then they have to “go”? Ive had two, one from my Grandad, he was on the bus and had full use of his body (he never when he passed), and was going to the pub, and one from my first dog, a blue merle rough collie called Tuppence who came to a dream to say “hello” and then had to run off.
I read up on visits and do believe in them to be true. Well, I awoke on both occasions elated that they were okay wherever they are, but also a little sad that they were no longer “here”.
Im a very vivid dreamer, I dream most nights and also suffer from terrible nightmares so for this to happen only twice in my lifetime there has to be something in it.
Has anybody else had what they may describe as a “visit”?
Great thread btw..

Of Janey? Nah..
As it goes, yesterday evening, i walked out of the door and a wicker basket just flew across the room behind me.. Must be a female ghost.. Probably one with PMT.
9 April, 2008 at 5:29 pm #324504Sounds far – fetched, but you would have had to have been there to believe it.. :?

One of the things I don’t miss about the dog, she used to scare the shyte out of me sometimes. More often than not I’d be staring with her
I had that thing with the dog too, but in the last few months before she died. I’d often be so convinced that I saw her out of the corner of my eye only to find that she wasn’t actually there.
