Yes on reflection I will agree that this particular comparison WAS a bit extreme. Of course there is absolutely no possible similarity in the manner of the deaths / killings. The ONLY similarity is in the total denial of any involvement and the refusal to disclose what happened to the victim.
For the record, I do not think that the McCanns actually actively murdered Maddie. I do think that they were directly responsible for her death – certainly by their willful neglect in (allegedly) leaving her all alone and unattended OR (and I prefer this version) by concealing her accidental death and then subsequently concealing her body.
When all is said and done we must all never forget that it was a little girl that died. She should have been brought up by loving and caring parents and had a long, successful and happy liife. I am utterly saddened that she is now almost certainly dead – THAT is the terrible tragedy in all of this.
Im sorry….. but has that poor wee wean been found yet…??? as i here only about she is dead… I do have doubts on the parents but my grumblings is because of Neglect.. they willfully left 3 kids under the age of 5 in a forgein country,,,, which is a country of family orentated… why was there a need to leave those 3 kids alone…..!!! IM sorry but of each and every person either reading or posting…. the guilt does lie at Maddies parents… no matter what….!!!
They should be charged with neglect, I agree and I think we all find it hard to defend them from that fact.
I know PB will say he is not surprised when they are charged/found guilty of murder and so will others and they have stuck to their guns throughout on this.
Ive gone left to right, right to left, up to down and so on and still cant get my head around any of it. Partly down to the rolling news, partly down to newspapers, and also gossip.
One of the reasons why I like this site is that people are allowed to air their opinions again and again and again without comprimise.
I enjoy a good debate on the serious topics thread and think this should be there.
Gossip threads are for completely different subjects where we can take our serious heads off (or put them on depending on who you are) :wink:
Plus I get confused as to what post I have just replied to as they are all too similar!!
You are quite right Sharon, this thread perhaps ought to have been on the Serious board and not General Gossip. I’ll move it right away.
My apologies to you and everybody for not having done this sooner …. it started small but rapidly took off (as the other threads on the subject of the McCanns have done).
On a more general point …. yes it is good that our users can (within reason) post what they wish, express their opinions in their own way, and take their own views on things. We try really hard to moderate the boards with a light touch and hopefully use a sense of humour. It’s not always to everybody’s liking … but on balance i think we get it more or less right.
So as if leaving all three kids in an unlocked hotel room to save on childminding fees wasnt bad enough, now we find out they transport the twins around in the boot to get out of having to buy or rent child seats hahaha………… :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
