Wasp, its one town in Lincolnshire (Boston) and its mainly Portugese immigrants in the summer working the land- how the feck do you think you get your veggies so cheap at your local supermarket if not by migrant workers.
People are happy to take the cheap produce of migrant labour but just dont want the migrant labour!

No, companies would rather PAY for cheap labour and not tell consumers where the produce is coming from or who it is handled by!
It is getting beyond a joke now and if the Tories dont bring up immigration soon in their manifesto nobody is going to vote for them.

This lil ole county of mine has approx 100,000 migrant summer workers (my village of 358 has 650 eastern Europeans living in big converted warehouses down the lane- n no, we dont have any trouble n the local pub landlord thinks its xmas every day!) but its a chicken n egg question- supply drives demand…or demand drives supply?
Is it a supermarket buying cheap produce to kepp prices down or is it the consumer who wants cheap prices n will go elsewhere if its not cheap?

get the point slayer but i live in the hills pal i buy local produce and meat i never eat from supermarkets when it comes to meat n veg. and as a point if i had my way the picking jobs would be done by prisoners or community service, both day and night to double the prison capacity :wink: :wink: :wink:
