well u might of seen on the News mind u it was the Scottish 3 hospitals found in the Amber code of cleaniness…. and one not surprising is our Local Hospital RAH….
The standard of cleaners is shocking…. in the A n E department there is only 1 cleaner at each shift…!!! half the problems is Cleaners are paid shyte wages…. and not trained or really have a scooby doo on how to clean…. If you brought back the ole Matrons in the wards etc…. paid Cleaners a decent wages and actually taught about cleaniness half theproblem wouldnt arise… and if people whom are in Hospital make sure when they get vistors that its only 2 per bed…!!! and that the people actually clean their hands with the gel provided…!!!

thats my suggestions…. especially raising a cleaners wage… when I worked for Molly Maid we were lucky if we clear £160 awk…. and u’ve probaly cleaned 30 plus houses in that wk…. and may I add some Doctors houses are very undesirable…!!!! Cleaners are more important than given credit for…

ya canny beat Sterlising Fluid……. fresh smell of cleaniness….

I agree with what you say Mary. What p/isses me off even more, is that of the hospitals that PASSED the standards , I’ve been in three of them as a patient and let me assure you, the filth and neglect was terrifying; blood and shit up the walls, overflowing waste-product bins , sporadically-changed sheets….my husband had to dress my wounds to prevent them from being infected. It got so bad, I discharged myself just as I was beginning my chemo and radio…and practically crawled back to hospital each day for my treatment.

Administration hasn’t a clue what’s going on. Most of the doctors..certainly the consultants..are oblivious to the conditions on the wards. Half the nurses come straight from college and don’t want to soil themselves with blood and guts nursing; the cleaning is contracted out; the meals are contracted out….bl@@dy staying alive is contracted out! And chriist help you if you’re elderly and require something ludicrous like being fed.

I can honestly say that I am alive today IN SPITE OF the N.H.S. and not because of it…
and I haven’t even touched the tip of the iceberg regarding the horrors that I’ve witnessed
and that I’ve had done to me!!!

It’s obvious to me that Scotland needs more Polish immigrants – they do a great job cleaning!

UK stick to the topic eh…. or go and do sausage fingers’ job….! plenty of polish workers in our area…. plus 2 new fab Polish deli’s..

Esm, when i had my bairn last yr, my loo was a total disgrace…. you can imagine what was lurking…. the blood, smell, black mildew covered shower…. i got my mam to bring in my cleanin box…. and I certainly cleaned that before I used it…!!! shockin it was… and thats just the maternity unit…! when I was also in for my knee, the cleaner was cleaning the hand basin with the same cloth she had just used to wash down a spliage on the floor…!!!!

people think cleaners jobs aren’t as important as others, but for the likes of people welfare im sure you would rather somebody properly trained and have a decent wage packet.

like you said also Esm, everything is contracted out from within the hospital saves the big guns whom paper push for a living with disgusting wages at the end of day arn’t to blame…!!!!

bring back a Matron to run her ward, inject ( excuse the pun) the money into hosptials where the pen pushers arnt responable for…. hospitals are run on facts and figures now… everything is a projected target…!!!

anyone just watch Aggie n Kim on how clean is your hospital,,,,..??

half of us human can’t even wash our hands properly for a kick off…. most of the public coming into a hospital not using the sterile gels.. and some doctors and nurses and staff..!! very worrying…. a simpley explained 10 seconds to put rub the gel on properly… 10 seconds… not much time eh… so you shouldnt have any use for an excuse…

but what I don’t understand is the person whom is in control of that hospital… paying out money fro an independent company to assess if the cleaning contract should be upheld and are staff accordingly…. why waste the money, when she could of got of her own backside and just had a good look about…. why are hosptial contracting out to cleaning companys….. surely it would make more sense in training up and hiring your own cleaners… and paying them well, training them well, and everyone known what duty they have to perform….

some of the findings would certainly turn ur stomachs, but we’re just as responsable than the hosptial…. i mean how many people can honestly say they use the hand gels etc… its not rocket science hygene….

I for 1 must buy shares in Milton products… especially the alcohol hand gel, it was shocking to see than Aggie and the matron having to tell people to use the hand gel… and still they didnt use it…

I thought the hosptial was brave to allow them to film, fair enough there was certain restrictions on where they could access… ie the blanket ban on the childrens ward… I hope they take on board what they found, and continue to keep the higher standards which they delivered…

I say let Kim n Aggie loose on all hospitals, let them help us gettin rid of something which can be contained…. and maybe everyone having thoughts of do I practise what I would expect….

now after bangin my gums again… I hope it made sense… i was amaZed also with the inferlgiht shown the bacteria on the peoples hands… and honestly thinking what lurks on my hands… so 2moz…. the Milton is coming out…. my hoose is goin to be sterlised fae top to bottom…

Just finished watching Kim and Aggie and I wasn’t shocked..it was all such familiar territory. I could tell stories to make a bald man’s hair curl. Try this one for size: Three o’clock in the morning in a godawful ward in the Western Infirmary..I stagger along a corridor to the toilets clutching an open wound with only a loose pad against it…only when poised on the loo, do I notice the handle..the seat..the floor..the walls…..are coated in some other poor soul’s shiit..

I’m put into a terminal side room in the Southern…my husband has to clean someone else’s excrement off the bathroom wall..

Tufty-headed little ladies having to defecate into commodes in the middle of an open ward..

shiiit featured prominently..and none of it my own!!!!

    =D> =D> =D> =D>

Maybe even an army of Kim n Aggie’s Mary………..it certainly needs something, hospitals in general are a complete disgrace!!

When my ex husband was in hospital last year, and I was going to see him, he said, I know i’m drivin you mad with make sure you use that gel, but I feel better if I know you do. I did too, every time I went in or out, I used the gel provided…………….what the point was tho, iv’e yet to fathom. I watched the domestic one day collecting the plates and cutlery from patients tables. She collected the cutlery from the old gentleman who was in the next bed, he’d eaten his meal (better person than me  ) she looked at his knife and fork, which prior to her coming round, he’d licked clean, and threw them in the tray containing the clean! cutlery, ready to be used again!!!!!

I was mortified!!! Patrick was in there having had a stomach operation! they’d just allowed him to start eating,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I went to the sisters office and reported it but still, we didn’t take any chances. It made all of us paranoid. We used to take food into him, along with CLEAN cutley for him to eat it with.
