oh yes u’r gettin the ole smokin ban in public places… like Scotland and Ireland n USA.. and proably more places soon.
Yes im a smoker, one of these smelly people , but i like to think im a considerate smoker, as yes while I agree public places especially Restaurants it should stay, but as ive said before its the back street pubs.. ie especially up here in Scotland, where the pensioner whom is proably living alone, comes out for a hauf n pony and bit of company, now stayin at hame way the carry-oot…
its here to stay the smoking ban, but what I have noticed and for a smoker im SHOCKED at, the amount of WOMAN smoking while pushin their bairns in the prams… now as ive said before, im a smoker, and I can honestly say with my 2 kids, ive never smoked while their near or around me and especially not whilest pushin a pram, buggy etc… HOW DISGUSTING IT LOOKS…!!! and LADIES….. CARRYING UR BAIRNS IN ARMS WHILEST A FAG HANGIN OOT YOUR MOUTHS…. !!!!
I can honestly say, with the ban, ive learned to less depend on a cig, and im now edgin myself to try and quit afore oct passes….. after the AMsterdam trip…..
Becks, if your ban comes through, if you have workmen coming to carry-out jobs in your house, up here you have to not smoke in your hoose atleast 2 hours before they arrive to carry-oot the work, and obvisously not smoke while they are there…. and now they are bringin in fines for flickin your ash in the street…. and not smoking in front of any pubs atleast 100 metres from the door….
just think when all us smokers finally see sense to quit, and we become a non-smoking Nation, look forward to the rises in TAXES… as where will the Goverment then make their money on the Duty of Cigs…??? plus half the councils will need to re-invest their stakes they have in cig companys…!!! as won’t be of much value soon..!!
ohhhh deary i havent been aboot much, but i still have the ole verbal diahorria eh lol
12 October, 2006 at 10:25 am #244226I think it’s April next year it is enforced….
We haven’t really had a problem with it up here, no-one has a prob with going outside (mind you, we haven’t had a winter yet since the ban) – it is a bit annoying though when you’re the only person in a group who doesn’t smoke – at times I have found myself sitting on my own while all the smokers nip outside  But it means I get the best seat

It won’t come to that – for every smoker who quits, there’s a dumb teenager somewhere who starts… :(
12 October, 2006 at 10:36 am #244229In every country where its been banned from public places there have only been positive comments from both smokers and non smokers alike. Remember, its easy to make rules like this but if the majority of the public are not behind the new laws (whatever they may be) then it could never be inforced properly. Deep down we all want to stop but if you havent got a good reason to give up then you wont ever bother. At least the government are doing their best to make it as difficult as possible for you. The rest is down to yourselves. And remember…. at the end of the day stopping is just a case of mind over matter.

Becky, how slow are you? This has been in the pipeline for along time, do keep up on your current affairs.
ITS back. I heard something about it a while back but then i heard nothing. I dont smoke so i wouldnt care if it was true or not, it will not affect me in an way. TW’T
13 October, 2006 at 9:34 am #244232agreee with tommy.. people are weak who smoke.. what irritates me are mothers, who get benifits, then spend 20% of it on fags..
the goverment won’t put a total ban on it as it makes them too much money, but a night out in dublin last year, and a night out in glasgow recently proved what a refreshing change it was and how well the idea worked
roll on april
13 October, 2006 at 10:33 am #244233I think smoking should be banned from everywhere, except in private places like your car or your home.
