what i remember most was the sea of flowers that lay outside of the palace and all the people that gathered on the day of the funeral :(
It was ironic that a lot of people blamed the paparazzi for hounding her to death, but most of these people still went out and bought the newspapers to read about her every move
I agree that if youre a celebrity, having your picture taken is all part and parcel of being famous, but in Diana’s case they went way too far. I felt sorry for the poor woman.
I love hearing about paparazzi photographers being punched in the face

Is it James Hewitt? He has a reddish tinge to his hair.
1 September, 2007 at 3:09 pm #285614Does anybody remember the total slagging off that Diana got from the Media in the weeks leading up to her death??? Every aspect of her behaviour (both public and private) was criticised and she was publicly vilified and humiliated. Without exception, every media outlet in the world had unpleasant things to say about her and her grossly over publicised ‘affair’ with Dodi Fayed … not to mention the dozens of other men (both married and single) who it was alleged had spent themselves between her legs,.
The Sunday papers were, on the day of her death, full of detailed articles damning her beyond belief whilst the front pages and inside front covers were taking precisely the opposite view. This was because they didn’t have time to re-write the papers in time. so of course you had the unedifying spectacle of the Press writing totally opposite and contradictory things in the same papers.
Of course as the days after her death went by and the Media whipped people up into a frenzy of mass hysteria and ersatz outpourings of grief, the ‘story’ changed dramatically.
Suddenly she became the ”people’s Princess” and was an icon for our times. People who could barely spell her name were crying in the streets because she had been killed-most of whom wouldn’t have shed a tear if their own mothers had died.Such is the depth of hysterical public grief whipped up by a media still hungry for ”news”.
Well at least all the florists in the Home Counties made enough money from the millions of flowers purchased in her name to retire into a life of luxury.

1 September, 2007 at 5:57 pm #285618Not a fan of the Royals, never have been, never will be.
Although, i did like Diana for many reasons hated the way the royals all bickered over her funeral.
1) refusing to come back to england form their holidays to deal with it
2) delaying flying the flag at half mast as a mark of respect
3) Granny lizzie (the queen) being forced to speak to the people after cries of “where is our queen”
4) Granny lizzie refusing charles to go and bring back Diana’s body from paris.
one just wonders what one is all about doesnt one?

The Murder? who said it’s murder?….the driver was drinking, and being chased by papparatzi, i think the term you was looking for was manslaughter at best
You totally believe what you’re told, you havn’t the ability to think for yourself. They love you, they can rely on you to keep them in the comfort you earn them.
Harry looks more like Hewitt (tanks shaz) who diana had an affair with, royal commentators have said he is Harry’s father.
I dont know for sure, but i think charles isn’t Harry’s father.
Diana was too close to muslim al’fayed, possibly pregnent by him too. Thats not good for the monarchy, especially when diana had massive public support, could possibly bring the monarchy down with it, MI5 needed to step in and destroy that threat.
Im quite happy they did, diana was a horrible woman, used her position and abused the thick public to get her way and earn a lot of money.
Very true Pebbles.
Dirty diana has never been the public of people’s princess, my niece is.
It didn’t bother me neither sunny. I couldn’t understand the fuss of it all. A close relative of mine died not long before, no one spoke about him in the media.
GM
1, why should they come back, it was only diana, hardly glamour was it.
2, diana wasn’t a patriot, she hated nationality.1 September, 2007 at 9:48 pm #285620u only have to look at james hewit……harry..an charles..to see who the father is.
1 September, 2007 at 9:55 pm #285621Yup …. just another one of the dozens that spent themselves inside the ”peoples Princess”
