Is my system too hot?
24 April, 2008 at 5:38 pm #331737cpu 66…i would say so yes it’s to hot, it could be 1 of the reasons your system is shutting down.
Not to say khost.exe is not playing a part aswell. If you feeling brave, you could take a look at the back of the case at the ventilation holes and see if you have a load of fluff and dust pertruding(and the sides if your side panels has them). Might give you an idea of what the inside might be like.
Also you might want to move your case if at all possible to a more open space (if it’s not already) so a better air flow can get to it.
Not to say you have 1 of these type of desks, but they really don’t do the computer any favours.
As a last resort you could try this
just kidding by the way! lol.
Thanks for the PM Ugo and showing me your PC, but i dont think i can do anything to cure your bad taste and being camp.

Good grief Sharon yes, wayyyyyyyyy to hot. No wonder it,s shutting down. Download this helpful little utility. It,s a diagnostic tool that tells you allsorts of useful info about your system, including the inner temp of it. Mine is currently 37c. And do what KT suggested and take the sides off and give the fan a good clean. You,ll be amazed at the amount of dust inside it.

Its had a clean, Ive moved it from under the desk and now have it stationed on a small stand a couple of inches from the ground, ran that test again and it seems to have helped. It also just completed a full system scan, which its not done in weeks!
Motherboard was 46.. now 41
CPUI was 66… now 52
Temp3 was 59… now 49
CPUO core was 82… now 62
HDD was 42… now 34this still seems pretty high, but I dont really know what else to do really.

30 April, 2008 at 4:43 pm #331743Good God !!!!!!!!!
Right your all wrong.
I can’t beleave some of the advice on here at times.
Think about what is happening on your computer and when it does it.
Why do you think its closing down?
Its not a “heat” problem.

That might not be the sole cause doa but somtimes overheating does cause your pc to shut itself down, as it did with mine. Try this link Sharon.
