now come on if we have an alcohol problem why not the alcopops hit by atleast 50p, cheap cyders ie whiten lightening, etc £1.
but what about the huge gas gussling 4x’s etc… i reckon hammer them cars.
he’s defered to raise fuel.i did see that they were rasing the money given to 3rd world countries for AIDE etc… my question is Why not sort out our OWN home problems first before helping others.. our NHS is crippled at present…!!
12 March, 2008 at 3:50 pm #317455Raising tax on gas guzzlers for the sake of the enviroment, hmmmmmm yet they are going to build more runways for more planes.Oh and did you see the huge gas guzzlers the Mp’s turned up in ! I’m confussed :? if i didn’t know better i could think it was just a way to raise money to waste  They had to raise the price of achohol because it was getting cheaper than petrol per ltr so everone would be driving around on vodka powered cars and you would have all the teenagers laying under your car trying to catch the drips.

or later if you can only afford 10 mayfair  half the fags = twice as long!
I just wish they would stop trying to kid us into thinking that we will live longer etc…..
Your life (i believe) is mapped out.
We are all gonna die. nobody (not even Michael Jackson fank fook) will live beyond their chosen path.
So why punish us breathing fookers for choosing to live and breath in this land? Its all sh/iteypants
AND NO TAX FOR THE ALCOPOPOHOLICS DRINKS….. wots that gonna solve????? sit at home and drink wine, pay your taxes, yet your kid can go out and get ar/serfaced (if thats what he chooses) for no extra tax!
LETS BUILD A RUNWAY AND CHARGE PEOPLE FOR CARRIER BAGS TO PAY FOR IT!!!!!!
genius
13 March, 2008 at 10:41 am #317460I agree taxes on gas guzzling cars should be increased sharply, but it’s unfair to single out 4x4s, when they are not all gas guzzlers.
And what about the Jaguar X-Type and Audi TT, for example? Most, but not all, of those are 4x4s, even if they don’t look like off-roaders.
I see that Darling hasn’t singled out 4x4s – just general gas guzzlers – which is right.
One of the London Boroughs wanted to introduce higher parking chargs for 4x4s, which was silly. Edinburgh has a better proposal – increased charges for longer cars, which take up more space.
PS I hope I managed to correct my terrible spelling mistake…. ‘Edinborough’, before anyone saw it!!!!!!!!
14 March, 2008 at 5:45 pm #317461as far as im aware the road tax is higher for older cars that release more emissions whereas the cars that are more eco friendly are cheaper to tax
so in a round about way they are taxing gas guzzlers more than the non
