i cant believe how insensitive the writers of coronation street are , showing ppl getting shot dead last night ,ffs the cumbrian victims havent even been buried yet

Perhaps they couldn’t hold it off for any longer – And I suppose it’s like saying, when a Television show airs a kidnapping plot it’s wrong because they still haven’t found Maddie.

    It’s just a soap!

I too was in Cumbria on the day of the shootings,we were on the A595 going to Whitehaven. We decided not to go to Whitehaven at the last minute thankfully.
We got into Muncastle castle and were immediatley kept in the courtyard and were not allowed to move.We knew there was a security incident and we saw the helicopters overhead, but nobody had a mobile signal so we did not realise the drama unfolding outside. We were on the same road as him about 10 mins before him,i count my lucky stars. RIP all those who died that day!

thats just the thing each and everyone of us knows it could of been any one of us , and yep noone could use thier mobs , we where frantic not being able to contact loved ones

you say thank god u didnt drive into whitehaven … u do realise he went right passed u at muncaster ?

Yes we realised he was on the same road opposite direction,i’d like to think we were in the castle about 5-10 mins before he drove past us.Who knows huh.
As i said cause we couldnt get any signals, all we heard from the castle staff was 1 person was shot, we didn’t realise he was on a rampage.
Well done to Muncaster castle staff, for taking control of the situation and keeping all the entrances/exits covered. We didnt realise till driving back to haverigg the extent of that day and how many people lost their lives,my kids slept together that night really shook us all up.I suppose we can say we were in the right place at the right time !

It was a tragedy and the act cannot be regretted enough. However one thing worth noticing about it is that people have realised and acknowledged that the man cracked up under pressure. I have noticed in previous boards that people were looking for a reason though the reason was of the man’s own making.

Nobody would go out and kill people for no reason. It is either the person has just gone mad due to some mental illness or he/she has cracked up and behaved like a mad person under some unbearable pressure. It therefore makes sense to look for reasons and address them rather than generalise.

The above is what someone has said in regards to The Cumbria Shootings.. I agree strongly with what’s been said in the second paragraph!
