I’m so sorry for the pain you and your community are suffering tictax and although its reported he was a very quiet man I can’t help but feel the need to have all those different types of firearms suggests to me there was some kind of underlying evilness ready to errupt.

fkin even had the audaucity to stop at traffic lights ffs , after killing ppl , he followed the highway code

There is NOTHING anyone can say to make the anger, pain, hatred etc go away.

I can understand your pain tic but sadly like Hungerford & Dunblane the explainations died the second that nutter turned the gun on himself.

RIP all that died at his hands & my thoughts are with those that now have to come to terms with what has happened.

Because they had no idea where he was going, couldn’t have the man had snapped and wasn’t at all rational or organised, just random stopping and shooting without any reason or motive. It would have been blind luck to have spotted him or stopped him before he did what he did.

pete this is no major city with a net work of roads , theres one main road thru the a595 and a few country roads , plus after his 3 rd shooting in whitehaven he drove right past the police station with no windscreen in his car and half a dozen coppers ran right past him to a scene hed just left

They can’t stop him till they know what they’re looking for and there were 30 crime scenes. This all happened in a 3 hr period i understand which isn’t very long to respond to and stop what appears to be a moving shooter aiming at mainly random targets. If you’ve had a report of shootings you’re not likely to be on the look out for windscreenless vehicles unless you have specific reports, their aim will have been to get to the scene, it may have been ongoing who knew. The shooter is dead and people need someone to take their anger out on perhaps, but i don’t think there’s much more the police could have done given the nature and speed of what happened.

It’s like alot of crimes though. When any of us have been affected, we all assume and expect the police to prevent it or do somthing at least. I understand what your saying Tickers, and you are actually there where it happened and know the roads etc like you said. There was a person being interviewed today on tele who stayed with a woman who was shot until she died, he was devestated to say the least, but even he didn’t know there had been previous shootings nearby, even though he heard gunshopts he assumed it was a car backfiring.
I think Rose echoed what I said. Everytime somthing like this happens is always said lessons are to be learnt. But then another situation comes about which is slightly different to the last, and we are all back at square one.
That community has been feeling weak for a long time now with the floods and the coach crash. Being thrust into the media for all to see. I don’t know what the answers are but I know I would feel the same as Tickers. Very angry.

yer i saw that man on news , recognised him, that woman died in egremont where i live, i dunno i mite be wrong , but the whitehaven shooting early on ws full of witnesses in the centre of town , and i may be wrong again , but ive saw scenes of crime such as bricks hurled from cars through windows etc and they get cought within minutes, a fear of what they where dealing with is my theory and nowt but specials and community police available
