Panda, the post you made I think shows you are. Missing my point or reading it or maybe not reading it, either way I’ll leave you to fish around for some more victims to support your argument, genuine heartbreaking cases and totally not what I’m referring to, and I’m not going to start a tit for tat on individual cases, I am not as idealistic enough to know people are let down by the authorities, as I said that’s not my point. But like to. Think that learning from such cases is fine using them to try and make a point a bit like the newspaper article, pointless and of no help to anyone.

A few people have disagreed with that point about the article, but you’re entitled to your opinion, right or wrong.

Poli does like to make sweeping generalisations.

Poli, refrain from speaking on my behalf plz. Where you may have found the article pointless and of no help, I found it thought provoking and interesting.

We shouldn;t forget history at all but don’t live in it… and you say about bleating on the negative well lets remember the positive aspects of history too… no remember the positives more

    Bleat? Where are the sheep?

    Over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It’s worth remembering that history in itself is biased. History is written by people, people are biased.

    The Bias Rule
“This rule says that every source is biased in some way. Documents tell us what the creator of the document thought happened, or what the creator wanted others to think happened. Historians know that even eyewitnesses to an event tell different stories about what happened, influenced by their biases, loyalties, personal experiences, etc.

Biases and opinions tell us important things about the past and can help shed light on both cultural and individual prevailing attitudes of the time. For example, consider the diary of a southern plantation owner, and the diary of one of his slaves. Each would certainly be biased and have very different opinions, but neither is less valid, and both help us gain a better understanding of the situation.

Remember, just as eyewitnesses have biases, so do historians. Bias is usually not intentional, but historians are not free from bias and a selective retelling of the facts.”

What’s the time Mr Wolf …..?
