Well i think virtually any sane person would feel some trauma but i meant overly traumatized so that you can’t function properly because of it, but i’m guessing as a “silent sufferer” on the surface you could continue life pretty normally and it not “overly” effect you to a massive degree?
29 July, 2012 at 6:41 pm #505288I think its impossible to say how you would react in a life threatening situation. I have only ever been truly terrified once in my life and unfortunately I froze, I couldn’t move or even scream I was totally paralyzed so shooting someone would have been impossible.
I would like to think though that if my kids lives were in danger I would force myself to spring into action and shoot until there was no danger.
To be honest if someone wanted to hurt my kids and I had saved them ….my overall feeling would be one of relief I had prevented it from happening… I doubt I would be overly traumatised… sad yes, no-one likes bad things to happen.

Are you not going to elaborate on what happened?
In my own situation I would have no problem whatsoever with putting a bullet into the head of some Taliban insurgent. And I certainly wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.

No elaboration sorry. I couldn’t kill a person just because of their beliefs either… not unless they were a real danger to me or my family.

I’d only kill a person because of my beliefs. And as I’ve already said, he’d have to be a Taliban for me to do it. And not lose any sleep over it.
