Btw, tell me, what would you consider the biggest hoax/ to humankind? Something that has captured the vast majority of humans the world over ?
You forgot about Santa Claus :) but majority of men grow up believing in santa claus – come Christmas morning they are very surprised and amazed at how all the decorations, presents food, wine seem to appear :)
Oh and Gazlan – don’t mock Christmas – it is a special time for most people.
Your mistaken, i dont mock it, it just bewilders me how a fantasy story has gripped the minds of appx 1/5th of the world
Maybe if you had family life, some children, possibly you would think differently about Christmas and Easter – when children are small and believe in Santa its magical – I do feel for people who can’t have a family for whatever reason or don’t have a family life – to me they miss out on so much even if Santa is a fantasy.

Lets hope that includes the poor unfortunate people without funds or employment then
5 April, 2010 at 9:41 pm #436952I gave my daughter a present last year, I re painted my farmyard my Dad made for me when I was about 6.
It cost him pennies to make, yet it was made with love and he spent a long time doing it for me, it was all I wanted, a farm, and I got one, he made it for me, and Gaz that means more about Christmas, and love to me than the most expensive gift.
5 April, 2010 at 9:49 pm #436953Its very honourable Nemi, but there is no need for fancyful stories of an angry God….or empty hollow celebrations….give the children these gifts without condition..most of all they need affection and love…these things cost nothing and there is no need for it to be wrapped in pretty colours

Christmas for me isn`t an epty or hollow celebration, to me it is a way of celebrating life, remembering past events, learning from them, peace and goodwill to all men, and a chance to exchange gifts to demonstrate affection and love.
As for wrapping things in pretty colours, isn`t that excatly what a rainbow is? (And before anyone points it out, I know it`s prisms of light reflected in the rain)

So have the celebrations everyday then…and rainbows are natural…Beautiful but natural…
