It would appear Langstraat, that you and I have similar views on today’s ”text” generation. I sometimes despair at the apallingly poor standard of literacy, the apparent inability to spell even the simple words, much less polysyllabic ones and the use of ‘texting’ type abbreviations which surely amounts to pure laziness.
It would appear that the study of grammar is a thing of the past (when was parsing last taught at secondary school level?). The only modern language that today’s children speak is Effing, (effing this and effing that).
Eff off….
10 November, 2006 at 11:53 am #247698Yes it’s a sad statement of the age in which we live; standards are poor and slipping. The only role model we have is Stephen Fry but you wouldn’t wish to copy all of his habits eh eh  I must confess to being dependant on a spell checker but what’s wrong in that, its only good manners in my book to try to get things right. My previous posting above was directed to another forum member who took delight in taking a pop at the Congratulation epistle; why people feel they have to make such negative remarks is beyond me they put off people joining in for fear of ridicule and intimidation which serves no useful purpose. Thankfully his post was removed which is a good indication of the care our guardian angels take to look after us.

Each time I see that image I think of a warm matronly type of person he looks so approuchable.
I’m usually a good a judge of character, seldom wrong but not infallible at the same time if you get my drift.10 November, 2006 at 2:42 pm #24770510 November, 2006 at 2:56 pm #247706@forumhostpb wrote:
