Yes sometimes it helps people just to be able to talk when they have problems or are too nervous to meet folks face to face. Depends who theychat to though i guess some people make you feel even more depressed. lol :lol:

I read this thread with interest, kinda relates to the why are we here thread a little.. Shy or not it is easy to talk and interact on here with what after all to a certain extent a ‘faceless computor’ talking to people perhaps you will never meet…….a bit like going on holday and acting totally out of character cos to coin a phrase ‘you’ll never see those people again’

I think the hardest thing for me is not to impart too much about my life on here, i am a naturally open and honest person who i guess in some ways is trying to ‘fill a gap’ in my life at the moment.

these chat rooms of late have been my saving grace, i am a natural people person and as i said for the moment this place fills that gap…….for one reason or another i am somewhat ‘stuck at home and there is only so much housework you can do lol…….

people are on here for all sorts of reasons…..but even when my life is ‘back on track’ i will probably still be a regular visitor……I have made some very good friends, friendships that will i hope stand the test of time, and james? yes it is also an opportunity to meet people you would never have had the chance to meet.

i am a firm believer that for what ever reason people who touch our lives no matter how briefly are meant to….
