Computers virus and spamming of the boards.

People ask me all the time, what is a computer virus? where did they come from and how did they start?

Yesterday on the site boards we saw a basic one, someone had use a “macro” program to post about 500 times on the site boards.

A macro program is a small tool that was design to do repetitive tasks on a computer, eg filling out forms on a computer screen or up dating your computer.

Computer virus are the same thing, small “macro” that carry out a “repetitive” task. If you know what your doing with them, you can get the size down to 3kb or 0.00003 of a Gb. ( Most of you have 40-500 Gb hard drives on your computer).

All of them “piggy back” on other programs on your computer like windows. After all windows is one big “macro” program.

So how do we stop “macros” programs ?

With other “macro” programs like ant virus or system tools.

But don’t let the fact that “macro” programs have been use to abuse put you off using them, they are useful tools on your computer and will save you a lot of time.

You only have to use them once and save the file, after that push a button and the computer takes over. Mouse moves and any buttons that need hitting are all done in fraction of a second. Leaving you to have a well earn rest and nice cup of tea.
