when I first came back to JC land the boards were entertaining
I got accused of being someone else but that soon stopped when they realised I wasn’t a name changer
I used to log in and enjoy the banter, news and gossip
Now I leave feeling a little bit sickened
I don’t want to know whos shagged who
(well I do but the venom that follows turns my stomach)
I may be boring and sit on the fence (as pebbles says I have the splinters to prove it)
but why should I enter into rows I care nothing about
Even daft threads I have made turn into biatchfests (and I dont mean only the ladies)
Are all message boards like this, because I have never read any others
I know PB loves the fights because it attracts the punters and I understand he has to make money to run the site
I only know one or two of you personally and I am my own person in that I don’t talk privately to any of you
I even feel wary about posting this because I feel anyone who has views opens themselves up to smart alec replies

It doesn’t happen on another forum I use, god forbid things went on there that do here. They have a warning function, 3 hits and you are gone. But it does mean that no one can express their true opinions sometimes, I have recommended a fight forum, but alas it fell on deaf ears.
sheest cherrybomb, this is tame compared to some of them ! at least on here its fairly adult.. yes i know,i know, sometimes ya would not believe it.. It seems to ride waves of being entertaining,then dies off for a bit. The 3 hits and your out sounds pretty good to me,but they have difficulty regards folks using proxy servers etc.and being able to come back,time and time again with more shyte. And i mean for pretty serious crimes,, as if it was for misdemeanors id have been punted a long time ago :)
To follow bon bon, its all fine saying “this is a message board i can post WHAT i like” but some things are damm offensive,and while we all have differing opinions its easy to see the serial abusers. Some days i leave here with a nasty taste in my mouth too.@rubyred wrote:

I do think some people could do with stepping back before posting at times, but in the heat of the moment that’s all too easy to say.

I used to get up on a morning, make a cuppa and while i was waking up trawl the boards
Bit like reading morning paper with your first cuppa and a cig
Smile at a lot of the posts and perhaps add my own
Now its like opening that brown envelope that arrived by post
You wonder what its going to bring
or what sly comment one of your own posts has receivedSomeone pmd me the other week saying they hadnt seen me posting for a while
truth is the boards were not *doing it* for me
and left me feeling flat.I read peoples posts and,even if their opinion differs from mine, I take in what they are saying
Some people call that cowardly

Your take on this place is as accurate as it is timely, given all the recent vitriol and vituperative posting everywhere across the board from STD to Current Affairs, with a stop-off in Gen Gossip along the way.
What I have found fascinating, delightful and horrifying in equal measure, is the transmogrification of grown adults..professional people running homes and families and responsible jobs..into wildly out of control children the minute we log in here and assume our alter-egos. Delightful because of the charming daftness and silliness of much of the banter; horrifying..well that’s obvious..the sheer thoughtless cruelty and spite of the jibes and accusations, a nastiness redolent of a chapter from Lord Of The Flies, if not the whole goddamn book.
I can’t be alone in pondering whether or not to pack this place in for good..certainly at the moment it’s causing me more grief than pleasure. I wonder what it is about JC in particular that engenders so much aggression? It’s a singular idiosyncracy I don’t encounter in other places..maybe it’s in the drinking water.

For you BonBon..I wish all three in spades.There have been way too many personal and unnecessary jibes lately on here, a lot centering around a minority, but as much as I dont agree with their views I would always defend their rights to say it.
You have to be your own judge, I just log off or ignore if I find it offensive., or try and add a bit of humour and start other threads. Ive found if you moan or complain you just get laughed at for not being hard-faced enough to take it.
For most of the time its okay, it is worse than anywhere else I use but that is because we have a never-ending freedom and no limits here. Quite scary how far people abuse that privilage though isnt it.
