The fox is not classed as vermin.

“Foxes are a native British species that is not, and has never been, classed as vermin by DEFRA. Their predation upon lambs and chickens is very low compared to the total of pre-abattoir livestock mortality, and by preying upon crop-eating rabbits and voles, they can actually financially benefit agriculture.”

hehe relax Panda i was only messing.

We dont have a problem with urban foxes over here so wouldnt know what to do if I seen one (where I live).

Where my parents live in the country, now thats a different story and the farmers shoot them any chance they get so save their livestock.

I however would rather a fox in my garden anyday over a ferret.

Had a fox asleep in the sun in my garden the other day – beautiful creature, but yeah a problem in both urban and rural areas. :(

They’re not. It’s all myth, propaganda spread by the pro hunt lobby.

Remember, fox hunting grew out of a need to satisfy blood lust, the need to chase and kill an animal for fun and enjoyment, not as a genuine conservation issue.

Nowdays, because the pro hunt looby is too ashamed to admit they like to kill foxes for pure fun, they have added the “conservation” strand to their arguement which, on greater scrutiny, is flawed.

Foxes are just doing what comes naturally. If they do cause a problem, a few simple steps which does not involve killing them will help eradicate the problem.

When one fox is killed, another just takes over the terrority. Killing is not the solution to problem foxes.
