Lee dixon on the watford winner V plymouth, “what a cracker, it hit the top corner of the goal”.

On close inspection, it hit the middle of the goal :D

Why do commentators make such howling mistakes? I see this on a regular basis, its time there exposed.

    March 17
Jonathon pearce on chelsea v sheff utd. Chelsea player shoots, instantly, jonathon says, “took a deflection!!”. When they replay is shown, he back tracks slightly saying, “did it take a deflection?”. The replay clearly showed that the ball didn’t go anywhere near deflecting off anyone.

I’d go for any football commentators who seem to forget that England have to play some games before being crowned World/European champions.

Same goes for English teams in UEFA Cup/Champions League. At least we Scots have low expectations of all our sides so we’re rarely dissapointed!
