Sorry – i get easily confused between ‘Fi-fi’ and ‘jen-jen’, it must be the hyphen I guess (or the onset of senility).

I know that “Joss sticks” are terribly ’60’s – but it was my generation that ‘discovered’ them and first started using them. “Incense sticks” sounds somehow so …. religious.

The corned beef thing (or “bully beef” as it used to be called) arises from the perceived knee-jerk need to acquire long lasting rations in case Armageddon arrives. I’m convinced that the Friends of the Earth tree-huggers and their ilk are just waiting for the end to come so that they will all be proved right at last….. hence they all rush out to buy up all the corned beef – just in case.

Best get stocked up for 2012 then PB cos everyone knows that’s when the world comes to an end – someone ought to tell them not to spend too much money on the London Olympics though…. :-

Come to think of it, I’m surprised to have not seen anyone trying to tie the comet Lullin in with Nostradamus or the Mayan “prophecies”….in fact, not much re Comet Lullin in the New Age world at all.

Is it simply a coincidence that the world is ending in 2012 AND we are forking out billions for the bloody london Olympics???

I sense a conspiracy here …… surely one of the new age tree huggers can generate a convincing conspiracy theory about all this.

    Hmmmmm !!!

Fi-Fi you edited, now my apology doesn’t make sense! but then again when did anything here have to make sense??

Sorry Jen thanks for the apology anyway – appreciated.

Asteroid ‘just buzzed Earth’Asteroid ‘just buzzed Earth’

An asteroid about the size of one that levelled more than 800 square miles of forest in Siberia a century ago just buzzed Earth, Nasa said.
The asteroid, named 2009 DD45, was about 48,800 miles from Earth when it zipped past early on Monday, Nasa’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory reported.
That is just twice as high as the orbits of some telecommunications satellites and about a fifth of the distance to the Moon.

“This was pretty darn close,” astronomer Timothy Spahr of the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics said.
But not as close as the tiny meteoroid 2004 FU162, which came within 4,000 miles in 2004.
The space rock measured between 69 and 154 feet in diameter. The Planetary Society said that made it about the same size as the asteroid that exploded over Siberia in 1908.
Scientists at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia spotted 2009 DD45 and began tracking it in late February when it was about one million miles away.
Mr Spahr said he knew within an hour of that discovery that it would pose no threat to Earth.

Of the known space rocks, the next time an object will get closer to Earth will be in 2029 when an 885ft asteroid called 99942 Apophis comes within 20,000 miles, says Donald Yeomans of Nasa’s Near-Earth Object Programme at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
Last year, the asteroid 2008 TC3 harmlessly burned up in Earth’s atmosphere over Africa 19 hours after it was discovered. Astronomers gave a six-hour notice warning of that fiery plunge.

Just thought i’d share this with you.. Just great, now we have Aliens lobbing things at us!

What are they going to throw next i wonder?.. This is a warning, it’s all this about trips to the moon and what have ya.. They’re basically saying: “STAY AWAY”.. OR, it could just be the fact that the planets are just exploding.
