So …. the people have voted & Mrs May has egg on her face.
If she had won fair & square then so be it the people decided BUT she hasn’t !
She’s now been to see Our Liz at the big house to ask permission to form a government.
With the DUP !!!! That is scrapping the barrel.
Personally I feel she should of done the honourable thing & stepped down.
Your thoughts on this proposed coalition please.

10 June, 2017 at 8:10 am #1051214With Boris “on manoeuvres”, her enemy Hammond confirmed as Chancellor, and her allies Amber Rudd and Michael Fallon going snake-eyed, I don’t think May will last long, Arc.
She’s lost all credibility.
10 June, 2017 at 8:24 am #1051217The DUP … Where to begin after all the recent negative press alleging Corbyn’s links to the IRA, including false claims made by senior tory MPs. The right wing christian evangelist DUP is supported by the UDA, a terrorist organization who openly endorsed one of the DUP candidates during the election campaign. The DUP’s leader Arlene Foster actually met with the UDA’s chief during the election campaign, just 48 hours after the sectarian murder of a local man in a supermarket car park by the UDA.
The British government is meant to be “neutral” in NI, yet is proposing a “coalition” with a group who is not only openly endorsed by loyalist terrorists, but who have some rather unsavory views on homosexuality and abortion. Previously ran a “save Ulster from sodomy campaign” describing homosexuality as disgusting, loathsome, nauseating, wicked and vile.
A coalition with this party is a real threat to peace in NI.

10 June, 2017 at 8:27 am #1051219“Iris Robinson, the Democratic Unionist MP who believes homosexuality can be cured by psychiatry, made a ‘guest’ appearance at yesterday’s annual Gay Pride parade in Belfast.
The Strangford MP appeared in the ‘guise’ of several marchers wearing Iris masks in what turned out to be Northern Ireland’s largest Pride rally for years. One float called the ‘Iris Mobile’ joined the procession through Belfast city centre with a giant papier-mâché image of Robinson on the front. The parade took place in a city labelled the most homophobic place in the UK or Ireland.
Organisers claimed the large turn-out was in response to the controversy stirred up by the DUP MP, who recently also likened gay sex to child abuse. Her remarks prompted one organisation to become the first Christian gay group to march in the Belfast parade.”

10 June, 2017 at 4:33 pm #1051291Pass the buck had begun her 2 aides are out – they quit.
As with any employer the buck stops with the boss & that’s Mrs M.
Her days are numbered I think & just like the tw@t running the US it’s only a matter of time.
This proposed coalition is a non starter me thinks & the 2nd time the Tories have had to back peddle after an election blew up in their faces.
Nick “spineless ” Clegg got what he deserved too this election.

11 June, 2017 at 3:57 pm #1051697With Labour in the lead by 6 points in the latest opinion polling (for what that’s worth), I don’t see another election as a way out of the mess that May has got her govt. and her country into.
We’ve wasted months of essential brexit negotiating time in party manoeuvring and electioneering, and we’re about to waste more time in a crisis over who is to be PM. Hold another election, and you could end up in the same mess. Worse, from the Tory point of view, you could end up with a Labour government of some kind.
great as far as I’m concerned, but
if I were a Tory I would be very nervous about calling another election. Even if you were ahead in the polls when you called it (May had a twenty point lead!), you may well not be by the end.
The sacking of those two aides is the writing on the wall. May relied exclusively on them for advice. The three of them were as thick as thieves. When Tory MPs called on may yesterday and told them that her leadership would be challenged next week unless she sacked the two of them, that was it. She’s not running anything now – she’s being run, and hot for long.
11 June, 2017 at 8:50 pm #1051844I don’t agree with coalition governments and I never will. That’s two on the trot now…….makes me feel it’s not worth voting if this is how it will be 👎

it’s not really a coalition, Tinks.
It’s a minority government – a Tory govt without an official majority.
They can still govern, but it’s more difficult.
