    It wasn’t just a lie:

    “‘Breach of trust’

The court was told the force gave her compassionate leave and special shifts, and colleagues organised whip-rounds to buy the family gifts.”

So fraudsters shouldn’t go to jail because of the cost?

Should we just let any old criminal off because the financial cost of justice might be more than the crime they committed?

And lying about a disease as horrendous as cancer is disgusting.

ah ok mrs teapot wondered where the fraud bit came from, ty
Maybe she should serve some time at her majesty’s service for that then, i’m not sure but she should most certainly be made to pay the money back to the people that donated , and maybe the same amount again, to a childs cancer charity and do the community service too. Still not entirely sure 18months of tax payers money for free board and lodgings for her is the answer though.

Whether she goes to prison or not is neither here or there with me, its the moral side thats troubling. To lie like that so you can watch your daughter showjumping.

Reminds me of a program on the excellent one life series that was on bbc a few years back.A woman who pretended to more than one husband that she had cancer, even shaved her head.

The woman who cant stop lying was the title, must be on the net somewhere.
