She is only 44… can you imagine her in 10 years? thats if she hasn’t died of skin cancer before then! Tanning is so dangerous for the little girl, I hope they protect her.

I know a woman who was seriously into tanning in about 2000………she actually fell asleep on the bed………..I can’t tell you how ridiculous she looked for doing that……..today her skin is in a terrible state…….her face has marks in the pigment and she looks old, well beyond her years

better to be pale and interesting than bronze and wrinkled

terrible thing to let a child have done, and the woman looks like an alien, god help that child

Sunbeds can have their advantages – for me I used to suffer badly with heat rash in the summer but the occasional use of a sunbed solved that and it has been many years since I had that problem

Children especially, but adults as well need to be wary of the effects of the sun and also sunbeds. Skin colour is not a prominent factor either as dark-skinned people can still burn in the sun.

Saying that, with the recent weather here I am more likely to get rust instead of a suntan

lol J – ‘WHEN’ the sun comes out, and peeps come here for a long weekend/holiday, I make sure they put on sun-cream, no less than factor 20+ – with a slight breeze they don’t know they are burning – ie. I watch carefully, as I get a tan earlier in the year, and, therefore, don’t burn!

Bliddy awful thing to do to a kid fgs – she’ll probs end up with OCD or summit! :(

I used to pick up a woman who owned a salon years ago when i was on the taxis. She said she was 50, she looked 80 and had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp.I cant understand all this obsession with having a tan.

You wouldnt believe some of the stories from the taxis, especially the drunk women.

Rape, attempted murder, falling dwarfs, the 50 stolen crunchies. The lonely but intriguing life of a cabbie.

I (until quite recently) used to work (manage) a tanning shop.
We had sunbeds and spray tanning booths.

We had strict rules about the use of sunbeds, IE you could only do 20 sessions in 12 months. We had a membersip system so it was 90% no problem to controll how many sessions sombody could do.
In general the clients took our advice and stuck to the rules, but as in ever walk of life, you have the odd few who go against this.
They would figure out when the staff changed shifts and come in with other family member’s photo ID and open up different accounts.
we had one client who had 4 diffrent accounts with us.
She was caught out when i came in to do overtime for a stock check.

It was a total disgrase how she had changed from 6 months previous when she first came in. She had aged at least 10 years.

That wasnt the worst of it,

We had awfull troubble with the Travlers/gypsys.
a lot of the time they would bring young children into the tanning booths with them.
No of course we didnt allow this, but at busy times, it was easy for them to sneek the children in.
We had a problem with one travler client, she brought her 3 year old child in with her and lay her on the bed beside her.
Gods honest truth, she was arested for this and the company I worked for recieved a fine.

The travlers would constantly ask us to spray tan the young children, children as young as 4 or 5
The shop front was smashd in one time when we refused.

Its an absoloute disgrase how these people CHOOSE to ignor the health and saftey rules of tanning.
