Jury is out on that one …. Would in the past say the boards .

Good lighthearted banter the odd serious debate with good points raised & opinion defended.

Now the boards seem to be a platform for people to personally attack others.
Sad really but that’s chat I guess.

There used to be an unwritten rule … what happens in the rooms stays there & not brought on to the boards. Again that’s gone by the by .

    C’est la vie x

    I prefer the boards.

Less room for name-changers and hiders.

No need to sit a long time to get involved in discussion, like the room. I pop in and out, sometimes once a day, sometimes more often.

There can be a lot of abuse on these boards. I prefer not to engage in it, but you have to defend yourself. If someone treats me decently, I’ll treat them the same.

This forum in particular is a good one. Threas can go off-topic, but it should be like that; they go wherever users want them to go. Serious and amusing and rude are all mixed together. Fine by me.

I also try not to mix the boards and the rooms, but there’s no rule about it – a lot of threads are complaints about the behaviour of the chat guides, for example, and at least one of them uses the boards to attack users.

It’s a big nono to attack someone in the room who doesn’t write on the boards, though that can happen.

Finally, the chat guides have little power over the boards, though some have expressed a wish to censor and expel users here. I’ve seen the way teh guides work, and it isn’t always fair. There are complaints that they takes sides in conflicts, and use their power to keep out people on the opposing side. I have to say I’ve seen this. So here is fine.

and genuine thanks for the sympathy, cosy.

I was poorly, but it was as a result of a bereavement.

    I am not RIP yet.

and I have a much gentler temperament than Victor Meldrew has – or had, as he is now RIP.

I keep reiterating – Quasimodo is my soulmate.
