I wonder if like me you have a mental picture of people based on their chat names?
I once attended a Backgammon meeting in York. Lots of the people there I had played backgammon with for a long time on the puter. One woman in particular whose chat name was FemmeNikita attended… she was always so popular especially with men all queueing up to play her.
I was nervous to meet her as she was so popular,,, anyway she turned out to be a rather large lady with dirty finger nails and gaps in her teeth.. not what I expected at all, she was a good player though but knowing the real person did change the psyche between us and I won more games after our meeting… crazy huh?

Well u do get an image of what people will look like i think they all look really nice :lol:

Of course we get a mental image of someone through their chat name. It’s all we have to go by initially.
It is interesting though to ask some chatters why they chose particular names. For instance f_politics. I’ve always wondered Pollers why you chose that name, needless to say there doesn’t have to be a reason, It was just an example that came into my head reading the thread. It gives me an image of a highly intelligent lady whos into politics. :lol:
My name used to be Kent_f followed by my age at the time. One day we were having fun in the chat room (in the good old days ..yes it used to be quite a common thing), after the queen made her new years honours list a couple of years ago, I remember joking I wasn’t mentioned yet again :lol: and somone suggested I put an OBE after my name….so I did. And I’ve used it ever since.
It’s funny when I get asked by newbies what I got it for, and when I jokingly reply how it was bestowed to me by Queenebayregina….it just takes a few seconds for the penny to drop. :lol:
Interesting take you had there Mrs T by the way. Did you kind of mean that once you saw that lady in the flesh, you thought or knew you were better than her and it gave you a confidence to be better than her ?@kent f OBE wrote:

It was just an observation I thought other people might have an opinion on. BTW I thought you really did have an OBE… gutted now :roll:

i used to use any name that took my fancy on the day years ago
i was chatting in open with pats some one id chatted to for a long time
another chatter called fast cars had the hots for pats and was annoyed i was commanding her attention
he came in my pc and was rather abusive to say the least and ended it with
your on thin ice so watch out
so to wind him up i changed my name right then and it sort of got stuck
and sort of fits with my pee taking and wind up nature

Only person I know on JC is Joker, I was told he was like steptoe but in real life Joker is over 6ft tall with broad shoulders and a wicked sense of humour, things are never as they seem are they.

UserFrenzy: Just for the record my user name could suggest im some frantic drug abuser lol this simply isnt the case .. founded this name many moons ago before the word USER was thrown around as slang for anything bad So was actually just a play on UserFriendly really, Some of the names are fantastic from this community site, be great if online persona matched real time personality but regarless of status popularity or otherwise, YOU AINT BEATING ME AT BACKGAMMON lol
That FemmeNikita sounds like a right sort ..if ya out there call me sometime :)
