I just think if you post a YouTube song in chat it should be at least one you are wanting to listen to yourself. For example, if I post a YouTube song in chat it’s because I want to listen to that song, and while that song plays chat will continue as normal and I have no desire of posting another link.
Some will however, post a YouTube song, I will play and listen to it but whilst the song is playing they may have posted another 2, 3, 4, or 5 other YouTube songs, which made me think, you cannot be listening to all these tracks and it basically just floods the room and makes chat even more difficult for the ones in conversation.
Upon asking a few members why they did this they said they never wanted to listen to the songs they had posted, but just for others to listen to them.
I think it makes sense therefore, that you only post a song if you intend to listen to it yourself (in chat). Of course there will be occasions when several people all post at the same time anyway, that’s life, but as a general rule of thumb, if you do post a song, you should really not be posting anything else link related until the time of the previous link has expired :)
Does that make sense to others, I just feel it would be better overall for everyone if this simple rule was followed. Basically, if you post a link to a song, do not post another one until it has finished and do not post it if you are not listening to it yourself.

I will agree. I post a you tube reference if it pertains to the topic at hand. What you may be referring to is the……’ fan’ who gets over exited at hearing his or her favorite tune or album etc then decides to post every thing on that singer band or what ever…losing the point of what they originally intended. The point is not to turn JC into you tube but use you tube like one would any other reference area like wiki etc to express their enjoyment, view or what ever and help others to under stand more clearly what they mean through video and musical media.
Some one accused me of talking too much the other day on here! I find that hard to work out. As far as i care…this is Just Chat…..use what ever tools you like to expand on your comments but chat and conversation is to me what this site is all about.

It makes sense, the site is called Just Chat :) In reference to the YouTube links, that would be Just Spam, and why people should avoid it as it disrupts the “chat…”

Thing is King….you make a good point but are you referring to the chat rooms or boards or both? Many have ‘moaned’ about the video feature interrupting in the chat rooms. that’s understandable. People… and i say this how i see it…Mostly go there to chat and the video feature i can under stand seems rather pointless as it just gets in the way of those who want to chat and have a conversation verbally.
Thing is about the message boards……some one posts some thing….people ( if they want to) take time to read it and take it in without being disturbed. Big difference in pace so i would agree or make my own conclusion that it’s a strange idea to have the video feature in the chat rooms. It’s bound to cause conflict in my opinion.
Thing is though King as well. JC have added the feature in the first place so it’s not all bad. Just that if you have a room full of people…..like you said….etiquette or manners is called for.

Hi MisterQ, yeah nothing to do with the forums, just the actual chat rooms… Everyone can post songs, but just do so if you are listening to it, don’t post one, and then a few minutes later you have posted another 5, kinda pointless…

Agree.. when some one puts up an offered song to listen too, do all the time.. and some times, have a follower or 2, dislike me, trolls, offer songs up that make implications for entertainment or upsetting others with child like behavior. There are times through this so called chat, will think of song in head, offer for either a direct defense as they do, but after writing listen to song again to make sure it was one wanting to use against hurtful attacks.. like those of me and cosy sitting in a tree providing one example.Misterq…

This maybe, not sure may have to do with me too… think those who dislike me, (think you see some here),may be going after you, because I respond to your post often…want to shut my chat down, make me look like a fool or troll.
Hope not. But depending who said this to you, think twice on motive why saying it.
