    I went to germany recently and purchased a laptop with windows vista on it, how do i change the language settings so that they are in english, finding it very hard to understand at the moment!!!

    I suspect that you need to go to: Control Panel …. Regional settings ….. and select UK.

    I think that there is also a tab marked ”language settings” in Control Panel as well.

    Well I’m glad ‘cos it was a bit of a guess. I don’t know my way around Windows Vista as yet – but this fix would work in Windows XP or earlier versions of Windows operating systems.

    already done that, the language setting is in english but every thing else is in german, all the icons the start bar and all the folders are labled german, i have had a look on a friends computer and it mentioned a unicode to change the version of vista to english is that right?
